    From hmxhenry on rockband.com:
     Hey gang,

Loads of variety this week, with everything from Anthrax to the Doobie Brothers. Anthrax comes out swinging with a 5 pack to get you warmed up for Caught In a Mosh, their RB3 on disc song, and there's singles from the Doobie Brothers, My Chemical Romance, Atreyu, 30 Seconds to Mars and Buckcherry. 12 songs from 6 different artists, and no signs of slowing down until Rock Band 3 launches on 10/26. Get ready!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 system (Sept. 28):

    Anthrax – “Among the Living”
    Anthrax – “I’m the Man”
    Anthrax – “Indians” +
    Anthrax – “Madhouse (Live)” +
Anthrax – “Metal Thrashing Mad (Live)” +
My Chemical Romance – “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”
My Chemical Romance – “Welcome to the Black Parade”
30 Seconds to Mars – “Closer to the Edge” +
    Atreyu – “Coffin Nails”
    Buckcherry – “Out of Line”
The Doobie Brothers – “Listen to the Music” +
The Doobie Brothers – “Long Train Runnin’” +

(All tracks are original master recordings)
(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system Sept. 29)

These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks, as well as “Anthrax Pack 01”on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system and as individual tracks on Wii. Tracks marked with “+” will also be available for download in the family-friendly LEGO® Rock Band Music Store.

    Price:
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song
    $2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song
    $8.49, £4.39 UK, €6.59 EU (680 Microsoft Points) for Anthrax Pack 01

Doobies are pretty awesome.  Both of the tracks are pre-Michael McDonald for those of you who care.  The strumming on Long Train Runnin' will totally suck in RB.  Man, hope that makes it to pro-guitar (though I doubt it).  Those songs would also benefit from including vocal harmonies, since that was a big part of their sound.    Madhouse could be fun, and Anthrax usually sounds pretty good live, so I'll keep an eye out for that.  For some reason I have affinity for songs that were in Guitar Hero.  Not sure why that is.  At any rate, I'm still holding out on any DLC until RB3 is released (exception for Holy Diver).

Meh. Maybe I'm a bad person but I'm pretty sure I've never heard any of those songs. It seems like a really long time since there's been DLC that I couldn't live without.

I'm not a fan of Anthrax but I'll probably get the MCR and Doobie Brothers tracks along with the Buckcherry cut.  I just wish they would maybe get some more Buckcherry songs on in the store, "Out of Line" is a good song but they have a ton of better songs that I would prefer to see on the store.

I like how only certain songs are available for LEGO Rock Band.

You know that feeling when your prayers have been answered...

Kinda bummed about two of the pack being live tracks, tho :/ (is it just because they can't acquire the rights to use them? Or does someone actually believe they're better versions? crazy peeps). How did I'm The Man get chosen to go along side ATL and Indians? Seems like Harmonix wanted Anthrax at their best and worst.

But, yes. Fantastic week. A nice variety it seems.

More likely, the studio masters were unusable or missing.  That's typically why they use live tracks.

Among the Living is probably one of the best thrash albums ever and one of the most fun to listen to. Good choice on their part, but seems like not many people in these forums know about it, big shame.

Why that 30STM song? Seems a bizarre choice. And isn't I'm Not OK already out somewhere or am I just thinking of the Burnout 3 soundtrack which is stuck in my head for life?

It's not that weird. It was released as a single this summer, so it seems like they're trying to raise awareness for that song. "
So it did. I totally missed that. Probably because Kings and Queens is still getting a lot of airplay in adverts and trailers.

Totally.  Was not expecting that or even any Anthrax song to be available for LEGO Rock Band lol.

I'm pretty sure you can tell that HMX are trying to get us pumped for Rock Band 3.  They're releasing tracks from artists that will be appearing in the game.  So far we've got Dio, Bob Marley, Anthrax, and Doobies making their debuts on the music store.
