It's got basically the same gameplay as Rock Band, so I don't see how it's crappy by any means. Maybe not on par with RB, but it's the same concept, so why fight it?

I love Rock Band, but I am more excited for GH: WT because of the ability to create my own music...I can't wait to try that feature out.

Honestly, I don't know how great the music creation will work out. It'll probably end up just being something that was done really quickly to try and be squeezed in for publicity. I will definitely be happy to try it out, but it's something that needs time to develop. Harmonix said that if the ever try something like that they will spend a quality amount of time on it.

I don't think I'll be picking up GH:WT, I would rather spend a lot of time on one then dividing my attention between two and RB2 looks much better IMO. With all the DLC I have there will be well over 200 songs day of release for me. I loved the original and basically my only complaints are being fixed.

If I wanted GH:WT I'd have to spend almost $200 since the drums aren't compatible, I would have much less songs, I would have less songs I like, supporting a developer I don't like as much that's milking the series, etc.

As for the music creation I write music on real instruments. If I started spending time doing that in a game I would just say to myself, "Why don't I just do this for real?" I'm not putting it down, I'm sure many people will enjoy it, it's just not for me.

Wait...really? So my RB drums will work with GH:WT? I haven't heard this before...do you have a source? I thought since the GH:WT set had more "buttons" it wouldn't work...

Same here. I'm getting Rock Band 2 because I already have a bunch of DL content, but the song creation seems awesome.

i dont think the song creator has enough depth it seems more of a drum machine but with guitar tracks and lame gimmicky controllers, if you ask me the wholemode feels tacked and gimmicky too me, but its opnions, also RBs setlist including all the DLC and RB1 songs absolutly DESTROYS(again IMO) guitar hero, guitar hero seems too go for really mainstream popular rock songs while RB2 seems to go for the lesser known(I.E. we got AC/DC but its not back in black, thunderstruck, highway to hell, etc.) but better and more fun on instruemnts/vox songs

For me it is the songs that make these games what they are. I mean, both play pretty well exactly the same, but Rock Band blows the competition out of the water when it comes to the songs. Harmonix will be making money from me this year. Last year I got both, and haven't touched GH3 since Rock Band came out.

Guitar Hero: World Tour was not playable for the press at E3, so it couldn't be nominated.

I'm finding it difficult to consider the song creator gimmicky and tacked on, considering it was the first thing they announced about GHWT when it was first discussed.  Also watch the videos of the song creator demonstration; it appears to have a ridiculous amount of depth that will let some really hardcore gamers create some awesome songs.  So long as everything remains free, it could add a level of replay value Rock Band lacks, but that's just my opinion and I don't really buy DLC.

As everyone else said, it's the non-appearance thing.  Even if they were there but weren't nominated, they can have opinions too.  (Before they're outlawed.  :P )

Agreed. GH3 was no where near as fun as Rock Band or Guitar Hero 2 was. Just because they do the same thing doesn't mean the gameplay will be the same, that's like saying Halo and Gears of War have the same gameplay because they both are shooters.

I´m actually more buzzed about WT...I enjoyed the steeper difficulty in GHIII over Rock Band's, and it will probably still be like that...besides, the RB has an odd feeling to me
