    An installment of the band-focused rhythm game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Focusing on the core vocals, drums, guitar, and bass instruments, Rock Band 4 offers a new set of on-disc songs while supporting players' existing DLC libraries.

    I've got a pretty dumb question about the new Rock Band 4 instruments, but would like to be sure.

    I know some of the older Guitar Hero and Rock Band instruments work with the new game, but do the new instruments work with the older games on last gen consoles? I think the answer is most likely no, but was wondering if anybody tried it.

    I played Guitar Hero during the PS2 days, but never touched the whole band set games last gen. I would like to check out a couple of older games from last gen in the genre, but just wanted to be sure before go I buy an old used set of plastic instruments.
