    Rock Band Blitz

Game » consists of 3 releases. Released Aug 29, 2012

Rock Band Blitz is an arcade-style rhythm game from Harmonix that is "fast, and loud, and silly, and a little over the top, and bright, and fun, and quick." It is capable of using every song from a player's Rock Band library.

Just picked this up with zero DLC songs, help me pick some.

So I just played the trial of this and I really enjoyed it, so I went and bought it from the store. I ended up choosing the freakish control scheme, seems the best. Anyway so apart from LEGO Rock Band I have zero DLC songs, I heard there are 1000's of songs to choose from, give me the names of the best and I will get them! I just downloaded Found me the Bomb and Pac-Man Fever, of course.

What are some of your favourite songs for Rock Band?

Giraffes? Giraffes! - I AM S/H(IM)E[R] AS YOU AM S/H(IM)E[R] AS YOU ARE ME AND WE AM I AND I ARE ALL OUR TOGETHER

I'm pretty sure it's only $1 on RBN. Get it!

Found Me the Bomb by Buckner and Garcia. I'm think it's a free song.

There's an Anamanaguchi song on RBN that I picked up on a whim on Tuesday that's really fun, and kinda hard. I would recommend that.

I also have a Metallica 3 song track pack I got back when I was playing a lot of RB1 and RB2, if you want some long, challenging songs, that might be right up your alley. Doesn't hurt if you enjoy classic rock, either ;)

99 cents, sadly. But 99 cents well spent!

Just Dance by Lady Gaga and Bulletproof by La Roux are really fun in Blitz. If you want packs, I'd suggest the Boston pack, Creedence pack, and the Queen RB3 enhanced pack are probably the best.

Just ran the price through the currency exchange thing, and I have to pay a 2 dollars and 26 cents for a single song. That's just way too much for one song, especially when the rest of you are paying like 99 cents?

I think it's kind of disgusting (and the reason why I won't pick up the game) that they included an achievement for playing 300 unique songs.

Even if you import your Rock Band 1 & 2 songs for $15, you're 140 songs shy of the achievement. That is some Game Room level of commitment for S-Ranking this game.

On the PS3 there is no trophy for that.

Rock Band Network songs are cheaper- they're the ones produced outside of Harmonix.

The best DLC I have is probably the Moving Pictures Album from Rush. I'm not sure how it plays in Blitz though.

I can't even imagine this game with no DLC. I have a modest number of songs and that's only because I've been buying them slowly for like four years.

Some songs are maybe a little more fun to actually play than others but I think the enjoyment for this game mostly comes from playing songs you like to listen to. My advice is to pick out some stuff you know you like.

Oh, the Boston songs. Especially Foreplay//Longtime if you manage to make it through the ridiculous intro. Also, More Than a Feeling.

I say go for the Freezepop stuff because all their songs are half the price of normal songs so you can get a good 6 songs for cheap. Also Re: Your Brains and Skullcrusher Mountain by Johnathn Coulton are always cheap. Then just get the free stuff already listed in this thread. I would also pick up song pack 2 because it has 20 songs and is only $10/£6 on Amazon, that is more than enough songs

I'm not sure I understand the difference. What is Rock Band Network and what isn't? In-game purchases are not? How do I buy the cheaper songs for Rock Band Blitz then?

I've played an insane amount of Blitz in the last day and have come to the conclusion that most of the metal songs like the majority of Iron Maiden's are absolutely no fun to play, they're basically just mashing wildly and hoping to hit a lot of the notes. Personally I love Screaming For Vengeance by Judas Priest, its got a nice selection of fast and slow songs.

I mostly just play the dumbest/awesomest songs possible, We built this city - Starship, Poison - Alice Cooper, Total Eclipse Of The Heart - Bonnie Tyler, Barracuda/ Alone - Heart.... ALL of the Bon Jovi songs that aren't from 2000's

    The 'Splosion man theme!

Really it usually depends on your music tastes: there are over 3000 songs to choose from, so there's room to be picky. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the CCR packs, one and two- they were fun to play in traditional rock band, but they were also fun in blitz. Plus it's CCR- who doesn't enjoy some oldies southern rock?

This is just my personal taste in music:

    Anything by Barenaked Ladies

    Anything by Jonathan Coulton

    Anything by Journey

    Anything by MC Frontalot

    Anything by Queen

    Anything by Simon & Garfunkle

    Amaranth by Nightwish

    No Rain by Blind Melon

Opening Band by Paul and Storm

Poker Face (South Park Version) by Eric Cartman

    Tribute by Tenacious D

EDIT: Of my ~600 song library, these are the artists/songs that always get played any time I decide to bust out the plastic and that I plan to focus my efforts on high-scoring first in RBB.

@Galiant: It has its own page on the site :)

I'm not sure about how it's distinguished in Blitz, it might still count as a different source.

You should pick up a copy of Rock Band 1 and export it. It'll only cost you pittance for the disk these days and 400 microsoft points to export it.
