Great so I'll have like 700 songs by the time this comes out to play in it.
I hope it adds some good new tracks too.

This seems really awesome, especially considering I've got my Xbox on a desk now where I don't have room to play guitar/drums. It'll be nice to get to play some more of my DLC that I never ended up getting much of a chance to listen to; all song support is crazy and totally awesome. I really want to know what the set list for the game itself is though, hopefully there's a few I'd consider to be gems among the 25.

@Alex: Wasn't there a situation with some of the RB1-RB2 songs not crossing over? I know that recently they were able to work out some deal later for some of the songs, but are their licensing agreements different for every song or something?
I think that was more to do with Rival Videogame Website Franchise getting exclusive rights to those artists for certain lengths of time (Metallica, Soundgarden and I think Chilli Peppers)
A friend of mine is known to loudly rant (while drinking, generally) that the only reason Lumines found success was that there was no Amplitude sequel to challenge it.Can't compete with Lumines. This will flop badly.
I love Rock Band. I love Harmonix.
I'll be honest, the Rock Band Board Game interested me more than Blitz currently does. We'll see.

Having played neither game, I will pass no judgement, I just thought it was amusing to see the exact opposite of Hawk's opinion here in the comments. Can't compete with Lumines. This will flop badly.
Max Payne 3 has no chance against Tetris Axis.
Rock Band Blitz, more like AMPLITUDE 2!
I hope they add some amplitude tracks "Whats going on Mekon?", "Everyone Says Hi", "Kings of Rock" ....... basically every track off Amplitude
more like a port of a 3 year old psp gameRock Band Blitz, more like AMPLITUDE 2!

The game can probably be most closely compared to Rock Band Unplugged,
No thanks.
Those songs will join whatever Rock Band proper songs you have previously downloaded as playable tracks in the game, and once you have Blitz downloaded, the 25 exclusive songs will work as playable tracks in Rock Band 3.
Ok I'm back in.

I'll say it'll be $15 but I'd by it even at $20. It works with all DLC and the 25 are imported to RB3. Totally worth it to me.
I'm with you, I'll pay whatever they ask, but I'm betting $10, maybe even $5. I mean, 25 songs in a rhythm game is kind of smallish, and they want to get this into as many hands as possible to get people hooked on the DLC, which that Suggestions feature seems built to do. But yeah. Since $10 is practically the new $5 for downloadable games these days, I'm guessing that's where it'll land.
But man! Woo! This fucking game, y'all! I hope to god there's Rock Band Network support!
I could see $10 if the 25 songs weren't carried over to RB3 too. Since a song is $2 by itself on the RB Store, 25 songs should be at least $15 with the new game.
If I was writing a news article, I would never link anything in the piece to a page that states that you have to hump John Drake at least once a year.
I don't own a Rock Band game, but I would buy this. I could see myself dropping like $15 to get a bunch of new songs to play in this game.

Is this summer of arcade?

So...Maybe Summer of Arcade?
Also, since I have no finger strength I will probably pick this up.
Probably not because it'll be coming out on both PSN and XBLA. SOA has to have some kind of exclusivity, be it limited timed exclusiveness or forever exclusiveness.
I am a huge fan of Frequency and Amplitude and I own ~300 Rock Band tracks so this is an instant buy for me. I hope there is more than 2 notes per instrument track cuz I think that would be reeeeeally boring, and it would take away from so much of the dynamics of Harmonix' previous games. But yeah, this is rad.
