There are still 5 people who I've invited to my friends list but haven't been online at the same time with to invite to the club yet. If there's still interest in GB clubbing, start a second club! ORIGINAL POST: Welcome to the Giant Bomb Rocket Club thread! This is a casual Rocket League club that is currently taking members of any skill level! The only requirements are that you're a fan of Giant Bomb and play on Steam. (Cross-platform invites are unfortunately not in the game yet, but if we still have openings when that feature goes live in the future, I'd be happy to invite console players!)

I'll be using this thread to keep track of current members and to recruit new members into the first GB Rocket League club. If you want to join, link your Steam profile (or post your Steam profile name) here and I'll invite you to my friends list. From there, I'll invite you to a party in-game and then I can invite you to the club.

Right now, I don't really have a goal for the club beyond just gathering players, so let's do casual matches sometime! If you have suggestions for a new name, tag, or club colors, leave them in this thread. I imagine we'll have to change the name of the club if more GB-related clubs start popping up, so starting thinking of some good and/or silly names!

Are groups new? I missed the news of this being a thing. What are groups? What can groups do? Is there a player limit?

@wrathofconn: Yeah, just looked it up. 20 players seems pretty low for a clan type system but maybe there's a reason for that that I'm missing. Either way seems neat if for no other reason then being able to play with some good duders.

OK, I've sent out the latest batch of friend invites, so hop on Steam when you get a chance and I'll invite you to the club. Including pending invites, we'll be at 18 members, so we only have room for 2 more.

Doing some more research into clubs, I've found that this feature is a bit too basic right now. As far as I know, you can only make a party with people on your Steam friends list, and there doesn't seem to be a way to make a party in-game with other club members (or even see if they're online) if they're not also on your friends list. Do you think it'd be a good idea for club members to invite each other to their friends list, or is this too much? I could put links to each member's Steam profile in the original post if we wanted to go that route.

@samuraigarrin: Yeah, the player limit and the fact that you can't DO anything useful from the club list in game really makes it seem like this is designed for groups of people who are already friends and already playing together. I would be fine with getting friend requests from other club folks and grouping up that way!

@wrathofconn: @samuraigarrin: Yeah, seems strange. If the people in your group have to all be friends in able to play together the system seems kind of useless. It's easier/less cumbersome to use the party and invite stuff through steam already. If they flesh it out in the future it could be cool but it seems less then useful at this point.

In any case, I'm fine with anyone here sending me a friend request and we can see how it works when some of us are friended up.

I'm fine with everyone in the club or people who don't end up getting in adding me. Can you directly add someone as a friend from the club menu? (I'm not home to check)

It would be fun to play with the community. I normally solo que (no friends lol) c1/c2 but id play with anyone.

The party system in RL has always felt weird and inconvenient to me and this does not seem to make that much of a difference yet.

@dew: They’re doing the wild Monster Hunter bullshit where you have to be in a party with someone to invite them to the crew, garrin will get to ya eventually I’m sure.

If people in the group want to add me to their friends list, that's cool with me.

Thoughts on a discord server? One thing the club is lacking right now is coordinating with other members....I'm not familiar with running a server other than a small one with friends? Anyone interested?

@evilgreendevil: I wonder if the GB fan Discord server would give us a channel. It'd probably be less hassle to go that way than setting up our own server (although I've never set up a Discord server, so I wouldn't know).

Hey, guys. I think that a lot of people will see this thread, also Rocket League is going to be free to play soon so I want to help potential beginners to understand how to play this game. First of all, try watching some videos on Youtube, there you can find some basic information. Also, if you want to buy items, I advise you to use trading sites because prices there are more affordable than in steam market.
