I want to start playing runescape again.I logged in a one every few months just to see what's going on but I never played for more than 10 minutes. I thought it was pretty fun back when I played a lot. I'm like level 106 right now. Can I hear somebody opinion whose played runescape? What did you think of it and did you like it?
RuneScape
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released Mar 29, 2001
RuneScape is a popular MMORPG with large amounts of content for both free-to-play and pay-to-play users.
What do you guys think of Runescape?
Horrible horrible, so ugh... I've tried to play it several times over the years, but I never enjoyed it.

It's a good "My first MMORPG". Loved it as a kid, but grew out of it.
Also, fun fact: There are Runescape novels. Yup. Runescape novels. I saw them in my local bookstore. They exist. On book shelves. That's super weird.
Runescape actually had a story to it. I think video games into novels are worthwhile. Mass effect had a novel.
It was my "Babys first RPG" it got me hooked into MMO's for a while and I thought it was good when I was like thirteen, But I couldnt imagine going back to it.
I heard that they overhauled the look of it, does it look any better ?

I know. I've read the Mass Effect novels. They're very good. But a RuneScape Novel just seems weird. I really don't know who it appeals to. Maybe I'm just underestimating the audience of RuneScape.
It was a crazy part of my youth, all my friends played it, much more accessible MMO then something like WoW. Don't think I could go back to it without the friend group I had originally on it.
A while back I realized runescape and minecraft are very similar. Both have mining, smithing, crafting, fishing, melee and ranged combat, construction, fletching, cooking, wood cutting, fire making and potion making.
I can't remember the last time I played but I remember being really addicted to it when I was younger. I don't really want to touch it ever again.
It was the the first and only MMO I've played. I tried it again a few years ago, but couldn't get into it without the people I used to play with.
It was fun when all my friends played it, but honestly I was shit. I never made it past level 20 and all I used to do was go to the magic rune place and mine blank runes, beg for someone to buy me a black armour helm, and click on a clock which used to say "Tick tock, I'm a clock!".
That's all I remember doing.

used to play it a lot when i was in year 5 an six use to have a hell of a lot of fun with it as my whole school seemed to have runescape fever which meant their was no shorted of guys to play with, got my self to lvl 86 and remember selling bowstrings to make money fun times
I used to play it as a kid, but I grew out of it due to lost interest and my friends stopped playing it.
But that game is still and always will be a pretty unique game:
You can be everything in the game, a mage archer, warrior lumberjack, miner, smith, farmer. Which is something that other MMO don't usually allow you to do.
Death means a lot more in Runescape, as in you lose your stuff.
And something else, the game look fucking gorgeous for a Java-based game.
But all in all it was a pretty good and still is a pretty good game.
I echo the "first mmo" sentiment. It was always good for free, but moving from that over to GW then WoW made it obsolete.
I had like a level 100 character too with a bunch of stats and money, just nothin to do with it now. Guess that's something you need to understand about all MMO games though.
@MattyFTM: Yeah, I picked one up last week when I got "The Order." I can't say its the best novel I've ever read, but definitely a great introduction novel for people wishing to explore more than just the visual aspect of the game.
PS: I've never played Runescape, I just enjoy gaming novels.
It was fun when I was 12, Back when I had no job, no money and the internet was dial up. MMOs weren't so much a thing back then, and free to play was unheard of. The only real mmos back then were Dark Age of Camelot, Ever Quest, and Ultima Online. It was a unique experience.
But now If I want an mmo I have my pick. There are a million of them. And more everyday.
