Just played it for the achievement so I can't go into full detail. It looked fun, it's gameplay is like devil may cry, just hacking and slashing, you do some missions on dungeons and win items, etc. I played persona 4 but i don't think that this is a game that would interest every fan of that game, it's more for fans of games like god of war that would like to see that type of game with an anime aesthetic.

Rusty Hearts - Steam Holiday - Chie fans, how is it?
I played about 30-40 minutes of it for the Gift Pile achievement. It was definitely a refreshing take on an MMO with its sidescroller-y-but-still-3D-combat and very beat-em-up-ish sectioned off areas in which you have to kill all the enemies before you can advance in the dungeon. It mixes said beat em up elements with diablo/WoW-style loot and quest systems and a cel-shaded japanese anime-style. It was pretty cool while it lasted, didn't care for any of the story though, I skipped everything.
What I absolutely hated was the control setup. Arrow keys for movement, X is your standard attack and A, S, D, etc are your "skills". It felt really awkward...

RUSTY FARTS
I love you guys.
After playing it for the achievement I'd have to go with the Forsaken World over Rusty Hearts. The controls take a while to get used to with Rusty & figuring it might be easier with a controller but it's the free mmo in the sense of lobby & small dungeons to constantly run through repeatedly with not a lot else there at the start for variety. With Natasha, ranged character, half the dungeon encounters were just pressing X at something offscreen. Rusty might have a bunch of fans out there but after trying it out, I can't join those fans of this. Easy to get the achievement though.
Hey guys, you can actually play Rusty Hearts with a controller hooked up to a USB port if you have one handy. Makes the controls a lot less frustrating.
I've been playing the game on and off before the Steam achievements were put in place but it is a fun little timewaster, and you can get almost anything in game without having to pay real money for it (though lack of storage space will force occasional tough decisions here and there if you like loot). Granted, it is pretty damned easy to run through most of the normal/hard dungeons at your level, I'm hoping they fix that, but when you do get a party together it is great.
Also, re: Meilin, it's literally nothing more than a reskin of Tude you have to pay real money for, turning an Irish drifter guy into a large-breasted Chinese girl with the exact same moveset. If you (general "you" not anyone specific) want to buy it then I won't stop you.
@fox01313: Natasha gets auto-firing missile turrets around level 10 (I think?), so she's mostly there for long range support instead of DPS (god why am I using that acronym?). I'd suggest trying one of the more melee-oriented guys but hey it ain't for everyone.
@mutha3: I knew someone would post that video. High-five!
It's very button mashy, you can literally just hammer the attack button and get SSS ranks on the highest difficulty.
Not the worst game I've ever played, but aside from getting that achievement, I don't see why you'd ever play it.
Why would you play Rusty Hearts when Dungeon Fighter Online is right there waiting for you?
Played a fair deal of it and the camera angle and controls kind of kills it for me. Not that they are really bad (they're serviceable), but DFO is better on both counts and I don't really have the time to play two different online beat-em up rpgs at the same time.
It starts off easy, but that's largely not true once you get to the second town area. It's very button mashy, you can literally just hammer the attack button and get SSS ranks on the highest difficulty.

Does it make it better or worse that she's actually an avatar alternate costume for an existing male character that's basically a surfer dude.@BoG said:

What about Busty Farts? Who doesn't want flatulence with a huge rack?
I tried it back in open beta and I couldn't skip the cut scenes. Stopped playing before I could get to the first real dungeon. Downloaded it again for the Steam achievement and well... they let me skip cut scenes now, so that's cool. The game is still pretty boring and the voices during the tutorial video (which I couldn't skip... lame, at least they were short) would talk over each other. Pretty poor experience all around.
Liking this and Persona 4 are mutually exclusive I would have thought. I mean I've never even heard of this until stumbling upon on this thread.
