A wandering martial-artist, Ryu is a master of the fictional fighting style, Ansatsuken. He is one of the main characters in the Street Fighter universe. Only those that have beaten him know his surname.
Well, the fire flower is a power-up that allows him to throw fireballs. He's not actually throwing fire flowers at enemies. Well, I guess this proves Ryu isn't the first, but I doubt Mario is either.
