Sacred Earth - Promise (SEP) is a visual-novel / RPG hybrid with the premise: "A mischievous mercenary from wintry Garenia and her long-suffering sister set aside their differences to compete in a tournament of arms. But when an old friend appears in the company of mysterious relic hunters, the past can no longer be denied."
Narratively: SEP uses a rich fantasy setting as a stage to tell a psychological drama about two sisters, their clashing personalities, and their secrets. The philosophical heart of the game is the idea that promises, rather than being something we keep, "keep us": the vows we make unify our individual selves against the contradictions in our own traits and desires.
Gameplay: Combines traditional tile maps with board game-style map progression, which is intended to engagingly mix up the pacing of dungeon exploration. The combat is inspired by fighting games and focuses on combination attacks.
