    San Fierro is the fictional version of the city of San Francisco. It boasts many similarities including steep hills, cable cars, GTA versions of the Transamerica pyramid, the Golden Gate Bridge,

    San Fierro Peninsula
    San Fierro Peninsula
    Lombard Street and Sutro tower to name a few. The shape of the peninsula is very similar to San Francisco, however the location of landmarks and neighborhoods is slightly skued, due to the obvious shrinking of the city.  The fictional neighborhoods Hashbury, Queens and Pier 69 are based on Haight/Ashbury, Castro and Pier 39.
