Co-Created by Shannon Gilligan, developer of the Virtual Murder series and Sam Egan, one of the writers of "Northern Exposure," Santa Fe Mysteries : The Elk Moon Murder is, as the title suggests, a police procedural game set in the American Southwest.

Famous Native American artist Anna Elk Moon has been murdered and the player, as a rookie police officer, has been assigned to solve the case within a week.

This adventure game uses a point and click interface to allow players to search for clues and interrogate suspects. The player is given 5 days to solve the mystery, but game time is broken up to 8 hour days, in which nearly each action the player takes 15 minutes off of the clock.
