Who else would love to see a fighting game much like Smash Bros. or Playstation All-Stars, except with a ton of Sega characters?
I mean, after seeing them bring a bunch of characters back in Sonic & All-Stars Racing, and considering how well developed All-Stars Racing Transformed was, I'm convinced this could be awesome. Especially if they went a little deeper into the history of Sega characters. Toejam & Earl as playable characters would both be awesome. Vyse & Aika from Skies of Arcadia, also good. Plus, characters like Ryo from Shenmue or Alex Kidd from... uh... Alex Kidd are perfectly suited to be in a fighting game.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Fighting?
Let's not forget Kazuma Kiryu as well, who would characteristically be completely overpowered. <3
I just picked up Transformed yesterday. If such a game as this is even half as good as Transformed, then I would be all over it. My only wish, and I realize it would be utterly impractical and pointless, is that they include everyone from JSRF and the important characters from Valkyria Chronicles 1.
I'd be down for that. Give it too Sumo as well. They seem to understand how to make a good game that capitalizes on the Sega brand.
I'd love it if only so there is enough of a resurgence of that genre that people don't shout Smash Bros at anything that plays in a vaguely similar style.
Oh man, Vectorman would be awesome. I wonder if Sega still owns the licence, though... or if it got sold off when Blue Sky closed down.Fuck yeah. I'd go for it. However, I want it to be more like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom or Marvel vs. Capcom than Smash Bros. or Playstation All-Stars. I just don't really care for the Smash style of games.
Also, I MUST have Vectorman in it. MUST.
@msavo: Your avatar makes me think they should put some Power Stone characters in there as well, even though that's Capcom I still associate that series with Sega. Anyway, it might be odd having characters from one fighting series in a crossover game like that.
Yes but Majima is so much cooler. Motherfucker has A PINK DUMP TRUCK.Let's not forget Kazuma Kiryu as well, who would characteristically be completely overpowered. <3

these, for damm fucking sure, if those 2 were in a fighting game id totally buy it
@Vigorousjammer: Sega sure has the linup of characters to do one of these, I just never really like these games. Even the idea of having Sonic vs Mario in the Wii Smash Bros excited me till i played it, which at that point I was bored. Sure there might be a fan for these games but I'm not that gamer. Did you ever play Sonic The Fighters? I remember it being more like Virtua Fighter but that might be as close as you get to this game.
Considering how big Ryu ga Gotoku is in Japan, I could definitely see them putting both of them in.@Demoskinos said:

true, but under the new sega, i dont think said game would make it to the US
A Sega Smash Bros would be amazing. They have so many cool characters that have been left abandoned in some old game character dungeon deep below Sega HQ. I really just want a game where I can repeatedly punch Ecco in the face.
I would have said the same thing about the last 3 released Yakuza games.@Vigorousjammer said:

You say that like Sega of America has shown any sign they give a shit about Yakuza in the US anymore. Yakuza 5 has been out in Japan for months and they haven't even come out to deny localizing it like they originally did with 3.

true, but that was before the new restructuring, and plus i believed that 4 did sell decent over here but dead souls flopped over here,
5 came out in december in japan i believe, and its usually a year later we get them in english, so we'ill see what happens.

regardless, its usually still been a year after they launch in japan before those games even make it over here in the US.
wouldnt surprise me to see that game come out this year as this is the last big year for ps3, or it comes out next year as a thing to help keep ps3 relevant after ps4 launches. or hell, if its a downloadable title for ps4.
Oh man, Capcom would be cool. I'm not even sure if the Power Stone team at Capcom is still working there, but imagine if Sega got those guys to do it, and they designed it to be similar to the Power Stone games with 3-dimensional control in small arenas. Except we'd also have all of those classic Sega characters.I'm down for this, but let Capcom develop it. No other developers make non-fighting game characters work so well in a fighting game as Capcom do.
I think I'd like that even more than a Smash Bros clone with 2D controls.
I'm having trouble picturing how sonic would fight. It sort of seems like Sony already had trouble making the game different than Nintendo and still decent.
Maybe if it utilized a 3D fighter type setup? Sega seems to mindful of not losing money to try to crack this type of market, unless Nintendo ends up with some improbably long delayed lag to releasing the next Smash.
Ya, a Sega Smash-Style fighting game might be pretty cool. But still think I would rather have Sonic & Sega All-Stars: Fishing. Imagine the intense single-player and multi-player action of fishing as your favorite classic Sega characters.
There could even be a mode where you create your own avatar, and then go try to catch fish-versions of your favorite characters. There would be Trout-Sonic, Big Bo-Bass, Ryo-Shrimp, Albacore-Amigo, Starfish-Beat, Manta Ray-Melchiott, Toejam-Tuna, Squid-Bayonetta, Chao-Char, Ecco The....Dolphin. The possibilites are endless!

Pretty sure SEGA still has the rights. They released it in some pack a few years back on Steam.
Also, Seaman. Just think about it. Voice-controlled fighting game moves.

Also, YES. SEAMAN. PERFECT.
Another character they should add in, just to give a funny contrast to the rest of them... a realistic looking Segata Sanshiro. Complete with a giant white Sega Saturn backpack.
Also, a car from Daytona USA, just like Fighters Megamix.

Big the Catfish, done. This shit writes itself.
