Post what you think would need to happen for Sega to get back into the console race. I think that if they both a) release Shenmue 3 to phenomenal reviews and b) manage to have PlatinumGames come on as a 1st party developer, they could really see the drive to make a new console. Also, the Hedgehog engine has to hold up well.

Sega will probably never get back into the race. It would take a game that sold amazingly well on every system to get enough cash to even think about a new console.
