I was reminiscing about this obscure but awesome game when I remembered the following conversation.

Maya: Mmmm... That bread you baked smells good. Can I have some?
Uncle: Heheh. It's in the fridge.

Might have been worded slightly differently, but yeah, that's one hell of a nose. That said, maybe it's time for another playthrough!

Random bit of trivia:  Marty O'Donnell composed the score for Septerra Core, and he also cast Steve Downes as one of the voice actors.  That led to Marty later casting Downes to voice the Master Chief in Halo.

I never played much of Septerra Core, but I think I still have that disc somewhere.

Maybe the poorest implementation of turn based combat I've ever experienced. But its good looking and obscure, so naturally someone loves it.

@Hashbrowns: Yeah, I've read about that. I've never played Halo, but I loved Downes's character in Septerra Core. Lord Gunnar is a legend; it's too bad they didn't use him to his full potential.

You know, I'm fine with you hating the combat system and all that, but I resent the implication that I like this game simply because it's obscure and looks good. It also happens to have a good story, and I found the battle system innovative and fun, personally.
