    Sergeant Slate is a member of the Freeport Militia, a corrupt faction of the Freeport guards. He patrols the road between the inns in East Commonlands griefing many adventurers.

    Overview

    Sergeant Slate is one of the most infamous NPCs in all of EverQuest. He is a member of the corrupt guards of Freeport known as The Freeport Militia and is tasked with patrolling the road between the toll booth in West Commonlands and the Freeport gates. He is a nuisance to almost all adventurers for different reasons. Any dark elves passing through from Nektulos Forest or any trolls or ogres attempting to sell their wares in the East Commonlands tunnel will be attacked by Slate on sight. But, even the good-natured humans and halflings of the area despise him for often interfering with their hunts. Slate will kill most of the wild creatures he encounters along his path, thus eliminating much of the available experience in the area.
