Serious Sam 3: BFE Announced For Summer
Love it, can't wait to see more, still skeptical of how "modern" they can make it feel but I dig it.
This coming from a HUGE fan of the series. However what the fuck does BFE stand for? The hell Croteam.
I cannot believe we're getting a brand new serious sam game in 2011. I must be dreaming.
This is definitely proving to be one of the best years ever for gaming.
If you had told me a new Serious Sam game was coming out, I'd have said "Meh..."
But after looking at those screenshots ... man, those are some sweet screenshots ...
The poster who said "Serious Sam: Modern Warfare" nailed it.

I remember playing a demo of the first Serious Sam on one of my XBOX demo discs, and I enjoyed it. It gave me a serious Doom vibe; one that I haven't had in years, only this game was much more lighthearted.
I think it's really cool that a new Serious Sam game is coming out. This is definitely a sweet year for gaming.
Announced on the Croteam website months ago.....at least there are some screenshots now.
Looks great.
Er, what does BFE stand for? The writer assumes I know.... but I'm apparently really out of the loop. @.@
I never liked Sam, it's too stupid. I hate the fact that people compare it to stuff like Doom; SS would be a much better game if it held true to Doom's gameplay. Non-linear, maze-inspired levels filled with secrets, y'know? Serious Sam would be much improved if it went and adopted colored keys/colored doors like late 90's shooters. Having linear levels with braindead, aggressive armies of enemies is just stupid.
So, if SS3 gets less braindead, and releases at a budget price - lets face it, this year is loaded with shooters and Serious Sam loses against Duke Nukem, Bulletstorm, Crysis, Fear 3, etc. - it could be cool. Thanks to Bulletstorm and Duke Nukem, we're finally moving away from creatively bankrupt military shooters and back to the super fun, very imaginative guns and enemies of games like Unreal and Quake. So lets hope Serious Sam can step up it's game to fit in alongside these heavy hitters.
Yes, please. That's all I have to say. 2011 may be the year of the mindless FPS with Bulletstorm, Duke Nukem Forever and Serious Sam 3 to allow us to take a break from Medal of Duty: Call of Honer.
