I mean think of the possibilities...the attractive heroine goes about trying to save the world or something....then as you go through the levels she runs into the "bad guy" or "boss" and he seduces the heroine. Maybe they could give you options to see if you want to be seduced, like how in KOTOR you have options of how you want to answer questions, and you can choose to lose on purpose because the heroine falls in love, or resist the advances and win. Eh?
Do you think sexual themes should be used more often in games?
I'm guessing you don't live in Japan. But as to your question, sure, if they could do it good. Although I think more people would be open to "romance" games, instead of "sex" games.
Are you referring to a vulnerable heroine that gets violated by the enemy? If so, Haunting Ground. In Japan, that game was called Demento. I think that's all you need to know.
" Soo...this your subtle way of hoping for more rape simulators? "nonono I was just coming up with an example. It would be all consensual, but the possibility of sex would add tension and create new storylines in games.
Like maybe they do it, and one side can now blackmail the other and you have to fight for whoever is blackmailing you now
Yes, but in a mature way. I am not interested in lurid porn fantasy but sex is an integral part of life and we shouldn't ignore it outright.
Maybe switch your example around. Being able to seduce opponents could lead to interesting strategies.
Paired with the choice systems used in Bioware of Bethesda games, that could work really well.
In fact, the few situations that allow this is FO3 work fine.

Why would the heroine have to be seduced by the big bad male enemy? You do realize that we don't live in the 50's? Why couldn't the heroine seduce the male enemy and win?
Sex in gaming is only good if it's done in a mature manner, i.e. Heavy Rain. If you want a rape simulator, then play Custer's Revenge.
If not, sorry, maybe I'm just obsessive about that game...
Ultimately yes. But most developers would probably handle it in a really heavy handed way or others woulds just try and shoe as much nudity as possible to tittilate their audience.
The first step is for the medium as a whole to realise that their market of 18-35 year old gamers far outstrips that of the traditional teenage boy demographic.Developers have to start taking some risks and stop treating us like pubescent boys for the most part. Then again that's easy to say from the consumer standpoint; it's not my millions on the line.
" I would like to see more sex in games, but in hardcore ways, for example in fallout 3 the prostitute in megaton, you should be able to control what goes on, and see it instead of just a black screen.FIXED
" @Jeust said:LOl i agree, still i think sex shouldn't be dealed with in an awkward fashion like it is now. It's plain silly." I would like to see more sex in games, but in hardcore ways, for example in fallout 3 the prostitute in megaton, you should be able to control what goes on, and see it instead of just a black screen.FIXED "
The uncanny valley runs too deep for sex in games to be nothing less then cheesy and awkward for me, at least in games that try to emulate the real world.
...though once you start to include sex in a game as some kinda forefront, or even bullet point,in any fashion it reads to me as, "hey, this is gonna be cheesy and awkward".
I've played a few Hardcore games that i managed to obtain without paying for and they were amusing in ways i don't think they were intended to be amusing but it's the same satisfaction you get from watching a movie that's so damn cheesy it's fun.
The only way i see sex as being relevant for "game" purposes, is in a role playing game where your character can age and die forcing you to have to make a child to play as, in an effort to carry out your legacy.
So the real question is, is it ok for games to be cheesy and awkward? sure why not.
The attempts at sex scenes that I've seen so far have been just painful and bad-looking. Characters barely look believable cracking a smile, let alone something of that nature. The analog-thrusting of Indigo Prophecy, the "inconsistent with the characters and grim events" shenanigans in Heavy Rain, and the underwear design in Mass Effect & Dragon Age is enough for me to say no, not this generation, and probably not any generation in the near future. Violence already takes the place of genuine artistic expression already, so adding sex would just further reinforce everything vacuous and cheap about "hardcore" games.
