Get this:

My dad has only one real restriction when I buy games, sexual content= you cannot buy it.

But if it is violent as all hell, it's fine. I mean come on, where is the sense in this. I own Dead Space, but most likely my dad would not let me buy something like Fallout 3 or Bioshock due to the label mentioning sexual content, even if the game is not focused on the subject.

I'm all for it. I'm not saying it should have explicit sex, but at least a sexual tension between characters should exist, like in Shadow Hearts: Covenant, for instance. Since most games exclude it completely the relationship between characters can sometimes be so weird, like they were a bunch of 5 year old kids. I guess it's changing, but it's very slow right now.

Well you don't have to have a blowjob sim mini game to have sex in games. I mean just having a female character that dresses slutty is considered sexual content as well. Or just having two characters in the game date and be in a relationship is also sexual.

Sex in games is always mild. I've never seen a good graphic sex scene in any game... unless we're talking full blown porn game... In mainstream games however, it's always been mild.

With the amount of sex/nudity seen in R rated movies these days I think that video games need to take it up a notch on the sexuality front. IMO the things allowed in an M rated game should be equivalent to what's allowed to be shown in R rated movies and developers should be pushing the ratings system's boundaries for that to happen.

I can think of reasons why graphic sex and nudity in games is bad...but there would also be benefits.

Unless the sex isn't stupidly gratuitous like it is in most games, I wouldn't mind more tasteful sex scenes in games.

Sometimes sex is a useful narrative tool, sometimes it's just there to be fucking hot. I'm fine with it either way.

R rated films are more like half way between 15 and 18 in UK terms though films can get a NC 17 for full frontal nudity in US while if a film in UK has little or no bad lanagaue and violence it could get away with that at a 15 rating. The thing is that NC 17 is death nail for film in the states while 18 cert in the UK is not as there been many action films like rambo and others that have been given 18 but still made alot of money but I can't remember is any NC 17 has ever been a big hit in cinama in the US.
