    So I never played Shadow of the Colossus, because I didnt have a ps2.

    but now after hearing so many people rave about it on these forums, I have been considering picking it up.
    But  mean, it came out 4 years ago, is it great enough to stand after that much time, or should I just wait for The Last Guardian?

    also does anyone know if shadow will work on my 80g ps3?

    It's a good game and yes you should pick it up. As for it working on that ps3 I have no idea. There have been so many of them I lost track of what they all can do.

    edit: should get a copy of ico as well

    @INFINITE_CASH:

    the 80g ones have backwards compatability software as opposed to hardware, so it only plays a limited number of ps2 games

    Yes you should still get Shadow of the Colossus. And yes your PS3 should work it, I play all my PS2 game on the PS3 and have never had trouble with any of them.

    @expletive: YES, YES, YES! But you should make sure your PS3 can play it. Google your model number and see if it can play it.

     the slowdown seems to be a whole lot more prominent playing it on a ps3 but the game is absolutely worth getting...its absolutely stunning.

    ico is better though... and thats an unwinable debate i dont wish to have.

    How could you lose track? The only ones that had backward compatibility were the original 20, 60, and 80GB models.. The 40 and 160 and new 80GB models have no backwards compatibility.

    @LiquidPrince:  ok so based on what your saying there are six different types of ps3's floating around. Out of the six two of them have the same amount of space on the HD. Honestly seeing that I don't own the system it's kinda hard to keep up with all of the different sku's of the basically the same thing.

    @INFINITE_CASH:

    You can make anything sound complicated, but just as easily simple. Only the first three SKU's ever released had backwards compatability. The fourth SKU was the 40GB which had nothing, as did none of it's successors.

    Shadow of the Colossus is worth getting any time, and anywhere. Even if you're being held hostage, that's a fantastic time to buy SoTC. Even if you're 200 years in the future when video games are played only with the mind, that's a fantastic time to buy SoTC.

    @expletive: Yes. Pick it up.  There's no multiplayer to go along with it, so you're not going to be complaining about that area lacking.  Just make sure you play it in the right setting.  Take some time at night when it's quiet and not to hectic around, and just simply enjoy the expieriance.

    A cool thing you can do is just check how many usb ports you have.  If you have 4, you're good for BC, 2, then you might have some problems.

    Considering it ranks as one of my favourite games of all time.  Yes.  5 years ago; somewhere around there?  That's not that long ago.

    Shadow of the Colossus is still fun, I just played through it again last weekend. The camera in the game is really horrible; if you can get past that it is worth it. Also, PS2 games only work on PS3 systems with FOUR USB ports on the front. Hope that helps.

    Shadow of the Colossus was a great PS2 game back in 2005, and that still holds true now.

    Slight recommendation: You should beat ICO after finishing Shadow of the Colossus.
