Character History
Raqivou Rilla was born in 1983 in Miami, Florida. His father, Randall, is from Jamaica, and his mother, Armynel, is from France. At the age of two, he and his parents moved to Tacoma, Washington. His parents were well-off, so he never really had a hard life. He grew up liking the beat and flow of rap, but despised “gangster rap”. Also a fan of Weird Al Yankovic, he decided to combine his two musical passions and wrote weird, funny raps. Taking the stage name “Shady” due to his love of wearing sunglasses, he was an instant sensation. However, one day, he was kidnapped at complete random by a mad scientist named Philip Hedstrom and had his DNA gene-spliced with that of a gorilla. After escaping Hedstrom’s lab, he returned to rapping, only to find that his new appearance was accepted. Although he was never technically book-smart, his intelligence quota and common sense were watered down as a result of the experiment; fortunately, his mind for battle strategy increased.
As a human, Shady had training in karate and swordsmanship. After mutating, he gained super strength, the aforementioned battle strategy intuition, and poisonous flatulence.
Prominent Roles in Games
Shady's Poopong, Shady's Stone Smash, and Shady's Poopong: 20th Anniversary Edition all revolve around hitting Shady's head around with a piece of poop.
Shady is a playable character on the rosters of Chousenshi Densetsu: Assault from the Sea and Street Rash. In the former game, he must be unlocked.
Shady is also one of the playable indie characters in the crossover games Super Indie Karts Grand Prix and Guppy's Quest as well as Alice Dreams Tournament and Toy Hunter.
