Has anyone played the DS games? What more known roguelikes are similar to them? I feel like trying it out since it's popular enough to get 4 sequels but I don't wanna waste money if it's going to be something beyond my tastes, that is if it's especially brutal like other roguelikes...

I heard it was a very critically acclaimed game in Japan, and one of the best console JRPG's out there, but honestly, I don't know what the series is about, and that trailer didn't really help....

It's looking a little better than it did before, but it's still a bit to gloomy looking in the graphics department, for my liking.

The game looks the same as before as it's been completed ages now, just not localised.

I know of those. But are they similar to this? I wanted to try Chocobo's Dungeon also but it's impossible to find so that doesn't help.
