Tung Fu Rue is actually the best fighting game character. Though I could have sworn his transformation was automatic once his health gets low in this game.

Ah FF Special, definitely not the highlight in the SNK catalogue, but at least it had these ads!

They definitely have tighter controls. SNK really lagged behind in that department for quite a while.

Really digging the Conan aesthetic of Battle Blaze!

Watching them play Battle Blaze brings back some great memories of my childhood. Wow.

FF Special is so good. They done everything better on later games, but this one holds a special (no pun intended) place in my heart of how much is an awesome sucessor to the original FF and the great FF 2.

Gotta disagree with The Science of the Fatal Fury movie (those characters are HIDEOUS).

Fatal Fury Special is definitely neat, and feels like a solid foundation for what SNK would make afterwards. It's a little sad that a lot of those characters were never KOF mainstays, because weirdos like Duck King and Wolfgang Krauser deserve better than sporadic appearances. That said, I feel like our crack team of scientists owe it to themselves to take a look at the Real Bout Fatal Fury games, because I definitely remember liking those a lot more.

On the other hand, Battle Blaze definitely falls into the "hilarious trash" tier of games this feature has in abundance. That's a better fate than just "boring"

The pre-round music jingle for Battle Blaze sounds like something a modern rock supergroup work come up with.

Man, that Battle Blaze music is on point. I also forgot how hard SNK fighting games are. I don't think I could ever master a complete move set for a single character.

How in the hell do they keep putting anything above Twin Goddesses?

The weirdest part of this Ranking was the moment Ben pronounced "Gustoff" as "Koo-stoff".

Can't wait until they do Bushido Blade. I mean they have to do it at some point, right?

By far my favorite regular west coast show.

I am looking forward to the science on these two gems from my active fighting time. The perfect representation of machine on machine combat rise of the robots and the only amiga exclusive fighting game Body Blows. The might have not been the best fighting games ever but sadly I spend a lot of ours mastering the blue cyborg and Mike.
