Ranking of Fighters 0034: Bushido Blade & Mortal Kombat

I will be surprised if MK is not higher than Blood Warriors which still confuses me on how high that game is

I remember Bushido Blade being on a demo disc, and just being able to run all over these huge arenas. Nostalgia glasses are thick, no doubt, but this game really stood out.

I don't know if this is YouTube's fault but ads are appearing in the margin of the video's frame in fullscreen.

Bushido Blade has some amazing shadow tech. Surprised that the PS1 was capable of that.

How can the science be complete on Bushido Blade without unlocking and evaluating the character with the handgun?

@bathala: Have you SEEN the gameplay? That game totally deserves its spot. Looks like it handles pretty well too.

Bushido Blade 1 and 2 are fantastic party games. Easy for anyone to pickup and understand. There is definitely an element of chance for the newcomers to get a few wins in, but the person with more skill always gets the majority of the wins in the long run.

The audio on Mortal Kombat is real fucking dirty and crunchy, wowza. I love it!

After Blood Warrior and Fighter's History, it's nice to see the scientists testing out some of the lesser-known fighting games for a change.

@belowstupid: I'm hoping the new SamSho game is similar because it has some real chunky hits (like 80% healthbar sometimes) and I want a fighting game I can play with my friends who usually just get upset about me winning a lot.

Bushido Blade is the lightsaber fighting game Teras Kasi should have been.

The awesome thing about Boshido Blade at the time was that it was surprisingly deep. Each character actually had special moves with certain weapons. For instance the first guy Jason picked is actually really good with the sledgehammer and rapier I wanna say.

Man Bushido Blade is so good. I played soooo much of that game.

God I want a new Bushido Blade so damn badly.

Finally after years of bringing up Bushido Blade in passing, it's finally been played so I can see it. Funny how similar it is to Deadliest Warrior, a game they really didn't like.

Seems like the experts were being held back - they can finally unleash their true ranking power in this episode!

Seeing Rival School being Nr. 1 still makes me way happy. Played a bit this weekend.

I got the impression that our intrepid scientists never understood that the characters in Bushido Blade are arranged from fastest to strongest on the character select, they all handle the various weapons with different proficiency, and each fighter has a favorite weapon with unique moves.

Bushido Blade has the kind of early 3D graphics that I´m nostalgic for.

It's way more fun to watch a show about playing fighting games without knowing or using any of the moves or controls when you don't care about the games. Man, I feel bad about all the stuff they didn't get to in Bushido Blade!

Bushido Blade 2 is my jam.

I loved Bushido Blade. The game actually has a lot of complexity with the different moves from the different stances. One of my favorite fighting games. I would love a new game in the series.

Always kind of surprised by the MK 1+2+3 love on this site; I thought they were stiff and generally kind of awful. Liked MK9 a whole bunch, though.

MKs always had the wierdos attracted to it back in the day (Tekken is a distant second).

You'd get what Jeff said "YO THERES NUDE CODE" or (to Sheeva): "Yo, is that Goro's BITCH?!?", or my favorite, the guy who would tongue his girlfriend after fatalitying an opponent in 4.

Nonsense, sir! Who has ever heard of a rapier that measures a mere 75 cm? That blade should clearly have been termed a smallsword. A game simply cannot be taken seriously when making such elementary errors. Balderdash, I say. Balderdash!

I still enjoy these videos quite a bit with only two duders, but I think they're much, much better when they can get all three in on it. I dunno if everyone feels that way (and know that logistics certainly play a factor, and are maybe the only factor?) but yeah, every Monday I click on this hoping they've got the whole science crew in on it.
