Perhaps the most buckwild shit about Silent Hill ain't the strange hellscape you find yourself in, it is all the largely unarmed "normal" people (even children) running around, unharmed, meanwhile we (the player) are armed to teeth and still get our shit rocked EVERYWHERE we go.

Doctor / Nurse / Cop / Etc. - "Oh, I feel asleep... Etc."

Me: (internally) "How the fuck aren't you dead as fuck?! Have you seen the buckwild hellscape we're in right now?! All the nightmare shit out there trying to kill us?!?!

"You fell asleep in your office like shit ain't fucked, I open ANY DOOR in Silent Hill or walk anywhere and a half-dozen living nightmares are trying to wear my skin like Buffalo Bill!"

That and, instead of doing the sensible, strategic thing of teaming up with other "normal" people, all the NPCs go solo-dolo and wander off.

I hope Jan got a good croissant. Also, I'm very invested in this series and thank you Jess and Jan.

I like the bad ending actually. Makes the Jacob's Ladder connections more apparent.

Man, I got that bad ending on my first playthorugh like 2 weeks ago. I hated it so much I immediatly went through the new game plus for something better.

I think the first SH was pretty obtuse compared to Resident Evil, I somehow missed Annie's Bar and the whole Kaufmann side quest thinking the Indian Runner must be a secret/NG+ thing.

I also remember being stuck on the light puzzle with the paintings, even messing with the TV colour and brightness trying to see a pattern on the buttons. Ever since, I realised the solution in any game is usually the last thing you picked up or read.

Jan, your comment about driving the entire road trip made me feel read. But I just love driving!
