"Men's clothing" has always been so terrible for color and variety. If you ever wanted something with a lot of color and pop, Hawaiian shirts have often been one of the few things in that category that were ubiquitously available outside of, like, tye-die t-shirts. It seems like slightly less of a problem nowadays, but aspects like these in how clothing is gendered always seemed really shitty to me.

The look from Jan's partner that Jason pointed out was actually very cute.

I think giving a satisfied sigh and saying "that was a good dump", stretching out a little bit is how all of these should end. It was pretty great.

For group watching, there are various solutions.

TeleParty is a browser extension (at least for Chrome) that works with most major streaming platforms. Everyone needs their own subscription to whichever streaming service has the content you want to watch, though. But, you just install the extension, someone hosts, shares a link, and it syncs it for everyone. Anyone can pause, I believe. For TV shows, it will jump to the next episode without having to redo things, from my experience.

Plex has a Watch Together option. You can stream content from your Plex server to anyone. It also syncs, and only one person needs to have the content, no additional cost that I can recall. (The biggest downside for this is you can't queue content, if you want to watch more than one episode of a series, for instance.) The issue with Plex is that, if you have crappy upload/connection quality, you're going to have issues with even one person watching along, let alone more than one, since you're streaming to multiple viewers. It's free.

You can just stream to a Discord call, of course. I'm not sure if Discord uses any sort of relay, or if the above problem (limited bandwidth and multiple viewers) would be present, too, but I think it would. But, only one person would have the ability to pause. It's free, though.

Personally, I like Caracal.club.

It hosts a remote Virtual Machine with a browser. You can log into the Plex web app, app.plex.tv/desktop, and stream from your server to that VM. (Just one upload stream), and then it bounces it back to anyone connected to the Caracal room. You can allow people to have access to the remote/controls, so anyone could pause if they need to. It is free, but if you're not paying, there might be a queue to host a room. Otherwise, it's 5$ a month to just make your own room whenever you want.

Oh man I haven't laughed that hard in a while. That Dan scream was legendary.

This much talk around kids, raising them, and Dan makes me nervous that “it” has happened or might soon happen and the Earth can only take so much abuse.

So yo, I have had to pass kidney stones 5 times, and had surgery to remove them three times. I have a genetic predisposition that helps them form, so I have to control my diet strictly. Salt and animal proteins are the number one cause in most kidney stone cases, but it differs from person to person.

The pain is really quite severe and can vary from excruciating to unimaginable. I nearly died the first time I had them as I did not know what was wrong and thought I just had real bad gas, but then I threw up yellow gunk and the pain sent me unconscious. I eventually came to and managed to call an ambulance. The paramedics had to smash my door in and I was rushed to hospital. The stone had completely blocked off my urethra and basically my internal plumbing had ruptured and urine was poisoning my system. the latest time I had them I had to have them surgically removed, where they go up the peehole with a special laser gun and blast the stone apart then take them out piece by piece. I had to have a catheder in for 24 hrs afterwards and that was the single most painful event of my life. A catheder is basically a torture device. I dont fucking understand how people who have to have one full time survive.

The other times were a result of me not paying proper attention to my diet and getting dehydrated, as well as eating too much meat. I had gone on a ketogenic diet, rather stupidly not researching what it meant for kidney stones. The animal protein is a big no no.

here is what I have done to stay stone free for the last three years. if you are worried about kidney stones this is the best way to avoid them:

1) THE MOST IMPORTANT - Minimum 2 litres (about a half gallon) but really aim for 3 litres (three quarters of a gallon) of water a day. Constantly flushing your system stops the minerals that form the stone bonding and you just pee it all out. your pee should be mostly clear every time.

2) WHEN DRINKING ALCOHOL: Never go to bed when boozing without drinking a large amount of water. Dehydration from drinking will cause minerals to bond overnight and increase the likelihood of stones forming. Fill that bladder up with water before bed, even if it means getting up a few times to pee. Drink a shit ton of water the next morning too.

3) BE MOSTLY VEGETARIAN : Leave eating meat to rare occasions, like eating out at a restaurant, or as a treat. If you are vegetarian the odds of getting a kidney stone are really low.

4) CUT OUT SALT: This is generally good health advice as most people consume many times more the salt they need to every day, which leads to a ton of health complications. Salt is particularly bad when it comes to kidney stones. You dont need to cut out all salt, but try stick to the recommended amounts. And dont add salt to anything when cooking or eating.

Doing pretty much just the above stuff has kept me kidney stone free.

Kidney stones are truly, truly awful and no one is ever exaggerating when they tell you what the pain is like. Avoid them at all costs.
