Man, Diablo still has such a sense of overwhelming dread. I think Darkest Dungeon is still the only game I've seen that comes close. The Souls games feel much more about despair, and even Diablo 2 is more of an adventure.

@reasonableman: I was just playing it myself for the first time ever. I got down to level 5 and with the way the light radius works it means enemies can show up at any moment so you end up slowly creeping around. Meanwhile you're just hearing screams off in the distance...

As much as i enjoy melting everything i see in Diablo 3, I'd love a new Diablo with this atmosphere and pace to it.

HAWKEN was such a great game. A bit ahead of its time, probably, with what it tried to do with movement and skills. MORE MECH GAMES NOW!

@birdsoul: I was never any good at HAWKEN, but I managed to get into the PAX East event that was the first time the game was playable to the public back in 2012, and that was really cool.

Learning that the Tunak Tunak Tun guy's in prison for human trafficking means that this was a yet another informative UPF.

the ending is prefect. it some up UPF Fridays so good.

Call me crazy, but I'd much rather play Diablo 1 to completion than Diablo 3. Sure, there are a lot of things about the original that feel a little dated, but I think it's just a much better all around game. The atmosphere in particular is way better.
