Initially the game was pretty good, campaign wise. The multiplayer had potential, but in retrospect, that game had some major issues. Also, Gears 3 just makes that game look like poop in comparison.

Oh c'mon! a cog is part of a gear! i'm talking about in reality, I'm only like 7 mins in, also english isn't my first language. Ryan brings a good point of how many people get the word play there.

I just finished the first chapter of Gears 3 and I hope the good part of the story picks up soon...so far it's been more bro-y and corny than the others.

The way Vinny talked about Castlevania is why I really respect his opinion on video games he should be reviewing a lot of the games on this site

I think it's great that a (less jaded) crew member finally gives Lords of Shadow a chance. It's a fucking great game and even more of a Castlevania game than any of the post-SotN-DS-games (too much weird Anime shit). And Vinny just got to the good part (granted, the first two chapters are not that Castlevania-ish).

Their mindless hate for LoS has always bugged me, as did the poor QL with Jeff and Alex. They should just stop talking shit about a game they don't really know. Listening to Brad declaring the cross not being a whip was painful, it's obvious he doesn't know a thing about the game. It's a fucking chain whip that retracts into a cross. Every single move is a whip move. Sigh...

Ahhh, what an excellent podcast. I enjoyed the topics from Gears 3 to Trackmania 2, very exciting stuff. Especially Ryan's evocative description of the TM menus was a pleasure to listen too. I alos love how Vinny had to decide on a more action-focussed game after the Witcher excess of past weeks and ended up going with Lords of Shadows, glorious.

I always feel like I have to keep damn notes on all the cool shit that happens but then I'd just end up commenting walls of text every week... either way, excellent episode gentlemen!

I got the Limited Edition of Gears 3 and there was a code for MP Adam Fenix on the gear.

Funny thing is that there was also a code for MP Adam Fenix in the game box.

Yeah, Vinny seems to give games more of a chance and isn't bothered by whatever hiccups there might be in a game. The main GB editorial crew says they don't have time to get too deeply into a lot of games. While I understand that, I think ragging on games because they don't accommodate their busy schedule is unfair. Jeff most of all seems to let the minor things bother him the most and seems the least patient when it comes to tolerating game jank. The Killzone 3 intro thing, while bizarre, was not that bad and did not anger me as much as it did Jeff.

Huh. Hearing the gang talk about Gears 1 and 2 makes me more interested in 3 because I burned out halfway through the first one as well. Great. Also hearing the craziness of Trackmania 2 makes me want to reject it. If it's a sequel it should refine the stuff from the original, right? Like, that should be a number one priority, right? But hey, new car model that's pretty cool...

When one of them writes a game off, the others take that at face value. For the most part, that's what most people do when someone you believe tells you something is bad. I don't really have a problem with the reviewer playing and not liking the game, since knowing the reviewer and his tastes is most of the point behind GB. If one person's opinion then becomes the opinion of the others without them having played it critically (meaning without the pre-loaded view toward its quality) then conversation about the game, from all of them, becomes a meaningless bashfest. I'll echo the sentiment that its a good thing Vinny doesn't let them color his views of games (Demons' Souls also comes to mind here), wish they'd give him less shit when he disagrees with them though.
