Giant Bombcast 11-01-2011

Batman and Uncharted are the top dogs for GOTY, I think. I'm curious to see how Skyrim might make it a three way race.

Can't wait for all the GOTY stuff. It's right around the corner. But, near 3 hours of Bombcast lovin' today will be damn good.

Thank you, Ryan, for highlighting Uncharted's unevenness in combat design. For games that are all about "the experience", the basic beats of the generic combat scenarios break me out far too often, and I think it's kind of crazy how rarely reviewers bring it up.

It really bothers me that Brad had no problem with the parachute in Just Cause 2, but has trouble getting around in Arkham City. If anything, Just Cause 2 is harder to "master" than Arkham City.

Did Jeff just call Batman's origin "stupid ass"? Huh.

About Zelda...isn't it similar to the stuff that was said about Uncharted 2 that you guys were dismissive about until it game out and you played it? How about you wait and see instead of passing judgement immediately?
Also so the best part about Battlefield for you is the griefing? Why is this unsurprising?

I want to play the fever dream Zelda game they were talking about.

Brad is way off on the lengths of Zelda games. No Zelda game has been as short as 10-15 hours. My first playthrough of Twilight Princess was 40+ hours, Wind Waker was at least 25 and Ocarina was at least 40 first time through. I have no idea where Brad is getting this 10-15 hour number.

Very few people play indie games on linux? Bullshit, guys. Go look at the humble bundle stats and see who is paying the most money for these games. There are plenty of gamers playing on linux who really appreciate indie devs considering other platforms.

It took you 40 hours to play through Ocarina of Time? And Twilight Princess? What the fuck?

@kingzetta: For me was the oposite Saints Row 3 didn´t come up soon enough for me to care now I cannot stop thinking about GTAV , but both games are very very different now they don´t even compare other than they´r open world games.

So Patrick is a regular member of the bombcast now, rather than a reserve? Awesome!

Yeah they´re totally different and now that Saint´s Row has gone above and beyond crazy and GTA to the oposite side both can be enjoyed for what they are without the need to compare one with the other. But Im still mad exited about GTAV.

On driving oversized vehicles in games. My favorite thing in Halo 3 is playing capture the flag on Sandtrap and just driving the elephant to the other Elephant and then the whole concept of capture the flag just shatters in kaos... I mean chaos

But instead, they name a screenshat "Hooah!" and put a fucking "Hooah!" button on battlelog, for a game where you play as Marines. And not soldiers.
