Armed and Rangerous 14

So close to the end! Exciting but also kinda sad.

Mammoths and mastodons are indeed a different thing! Their slight physical differences don’t seem worth going into in the comments. Both went extinct seemingly due to some combination of climate change and increased human hunting.

Pitting the Red and Green Ranger against each other is the best idea Rita has ever had.

I've started shouting "Ranger of the week" anytime someone does something notable. Zack was clearly the right choice this week.

Also, a future show idea. Glitter Force is the westernized version of Pretty Cure, a magical girl anime with some heavy super sentai influences. There are a couple series on Netflix and they are really good; they're funny, there are some goofy villains and some good action/special moves. 15-20ish episodes a season. It could be a fun shows to cover for a few episodes. In one episode an evil, giant rapping tape deck raps, "Check it out, I got the beat. My lunch today was processed meat."

Zack definitely deserved Ranger of the Week. I'm surprised neither of you mentioned that he's the one who actually came up with the plan to defeat the Soccadillo. Not only did he, but Jason asked him and he was READY.

From trolling Zack with the obvious date invitation and then switching it up, to casually telling Bulk to bring Zack back like she thinks the whole "magic" thing is real. She had me cracking up lol.

I don't know if it's too late to implement this @janman but it's always bugged me personally that the Armed and Rangerous cover art isn't square and looks a bit odd in my podcast app of choice (and I don't blame anyone for that except myself for being a perfectionist) so I made a square version for myself that I thought I'd pass along just in case you ever wanted to update it.

Totally understand if this isn't a priority for you or even worthy of your time, but it's here anyway just in case it saves you 15 minutes of trivial photoshop work (you might be able to do a cleaner version with the original file but Photoshop's content-aware fill did some heavy lifting here and looks about right). It's also here for anyone else who might have wanted a square version.

Penultimate episode? Nooooooo!

I fucking love this podcast! I think they should strongly consider continuing with MMPR S2. I bought the DVDs, c’mon, haha. Seriously though I felt compelled to continue after episode 60. I watched the first three episodes of season 2 (three-parter) and it was incredible!:

MMPR S2 would go down as a smooth 13 podcasts in the current four-episodes-per-podcast format!

Could do an Armed and Rangerous podcast for the movie here.

MMPR S3 would also go down easy as 11 podcasts in a three-episodes-per-podcast format!

Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers is only 10 episodes so that could be just a couple ’casts.

I may be crazy but I’m willing to watch up to the end of Power Rangers in Space (S6) with Matt and Jan at this point. I get good insight in to the show and business, and they find the same things funny or endearing about the show that I do. I’ve never seen all of MMPR, but apparently the end of in Space is the end of the Zordon/Alpha 5 era and the continuing story we started with here. I’m game!
