This isn't so bad now that the dust has settled. It's like when Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica. Now we have two awesome bands, Megadeth and Metallica. Vinny, Alex and Brad left, now we have Giant Bomb and Nextlander.

but I do think Dave is still a bit upset, I mean Megadeth are great but I'm sure he'd love to have Kirk Hammett money

@thepickle: The fact that he relapsed hard because "The Black Album" massively outsold Megadeth's output at the time lends some credence to this, certainly.

Personally I'm hoping this brings down some of the drama still going on in the forums.

@deadstar: I think there's much less drama with GB and NL. It's more like Broken Social Scene, where Emily Haines can go do Metric but still be a part of BSS. Or Feist doing the same thing.

This is the true sendoff bottled all into one video. Really scopes in on that last week and boy it hits hard. But I also think it's pretty cool with having two separate groups now to pay attention to. End of an era has been said 100 times, but this video really made me feel it.

Thank you guys for the years of laughs. My only wish is that I found y'all sooner in life, but I'm endlessly grateful nonetheless.

I'll miss them at GB and wish them luck with Nextlander. I hope it all works out for them in the long run.

I'm so happy we still have Vinny, Brad and (especially) Alex. Part of what made this so sad was it was both a breaking up of an incredible and historied team, but also potentially the very last I might see of the former staffers. But now that half of that is no longer the case, it's made this feel a lot less depressing.

The GB and GBE crews were already pretty separated (in a way that today feels silly since no one's in the same building anymore), so Nextlander still feels very much like an extension of GB. I'm curious if they'll do any collabs down the road, though I don't expect anything soon.

Well I wasn't planning on crying today but here we are.
