Fall of Reach and First Strike are really good video game books! The Flood however was probably one of the worst books I have ever read.

Oh Halo 2... I spent years dedicated to you. It was my first xbox live game, and I remember going crazy playing online with my friends. I loved you.

Patrick browsing through the memory of that old Gamespot Xbox kind of makes me wish for some sort of GB video series featuring some of the forgotten/great games on the original Xbox.

Seriously man, that interface won me over for the "cool" factor. Amazing how cluttered modern dashboards are for consoles.

@Canteu: Amen! I actually read those books before ever playing a Halo game, and Fall of Reach really drew me in. The Flood...man, I had no idea what that book was even talking about until I played the game. I do still like some of my mental images from the book more than what's in the actual game, though.

Man, I still hate Halo 2, and I still want to play on New Mombasa. Patrick's love of the BR, defense of Bungie running out of time, and his horrible reaction to the Halo novels only solidifies this fact in my mind.

@GalacticPunt: You can always get the version for Windows, I suppose. Though I don't know if it works for Windows 7 or not...

Edit: Oh god, I remember the creepy digital voice in the background of the Xbox dashboard. So unsettling when you forget that it's on and start hearing in the middle of the night.

Shut the fuck up about LOST, Patrick. Not everything needs to be about Lost.

Halo 2 is my favorite game of all time. I have spent months of my life playing it. I remember waiting in line for it at midnight at Wal-mart and getting the last Limited Edition copy--so gratifying. The graphics, story, new features, and online multiplayer were a huge step above the first game. I'd give my own arm for a 100% faithful (meaning, no reskinned Reach multiplayer a la Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary) HD remake of Halo 2.

This is a fantastic video series, but Patrick is so freakin' cynical and critical that he sucks the joy out of this portion. I've never understood that type of attitude.

He was incredibly cocky in this, I wanted to throttle him so bad when this was live. Kinda ruined it for me. INVERTED BRO'S ONLY (and immediate family)
