Drew saw Alex getting weird internet heat and came for his spot, half expect him to be on The Beastcast too.

What heat happened with Alex? I love that guy.

Also curious. Haven't heard of anything.

Having Drew back is like a warm blanket. Makes me realise again how much I miss him on the site.

I think I've said it in comments before but I maintain that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the best Star Fox game to date. If you just replaced all the characters with furries and had a variety of environments befitting the Nintendo seal of approval you might have something.

@naevorc: One of Alex's tweets recently went viral, featured a clip of an obscure Nic Cage cameo where he wears a fake rubber nose. It's quite something. Internet "heat" probably isn't the best way to describe it, he just got a lot of attention from it and was featured in an article about the whole thing.

What was the card game they discussed that had combat and negotiation decks? Thanks in advance for replies.

Man, I feel like Brad was talking about a completely different game. The AI is bad enough it shouldn't have shipped with it in that state (its useless and many times won't even revive you), there are micro transactions in a single player/co-op game, the loot economy is awful, the side missions are copy and paste with no real change and many send you to the location back to back to back, the new characters are legit the worst in the series, the dialogue is embarrassing, the combat is awful, the check pointing is incredibly punishing...

You all should get on the Cloth Map train on Patreon. Drew is doing something really special with his videos. His videos are very uplifting portraits of humanity all around the world. The Chernobyl one was not like that but it was beautifully shot and edited. That is how his videos have been trending though. The Brazil ones were excellent including one he did in the "infamous" Favellas. At least go watch them and throw him a like but I think he is worth supporting.

Youngblood is a pretty major disappointment, I must say. I don't necessarily think any of the underlying ideas are terrible, but it feels like they were all done with the minimum required effort rather than putting any thought into them.

Take, for example, the level design. One of the great things about TNC was that it was recognizably a dark alternate Nazi-run America. If you hadn't told anyone where that game took place, the level of Americana is so specific that you would clearly recognize where it was taking place.

Youngblood, on the other hand, is neither recognizably Paris nor the 1980s. The level design is so generic that you told tell me the game takes place in Prague or London I'd probably believe you. There's literally nothing memorable about it (and also no map screen, which was a major WTF).

Similarly, in the first couple of games, there are things to clearly establish the era. Finding alt-universe Beetles songs and the presence of alien conspiracies and hippy-drug culture clearly lets you know when the game is taking place. Youngblood doesn't have any of that. Sure, it has "Nazi VHS" and "Nazi cassette" collectibles, but none of the covers are recognizable as 70's or 80's movies or songs. Where's the Nazi Star Wars? Or the Nazi version of something like The Sex Pistols or KISS?

I suppose I shouldn't complain as it's one $30, but godammit, the game could have been so much better than it is.

@th3irdeye: I would say it is because these 2 things are different. The Epic launcher is a service for playing your games. Logging on to the service would be similar to logging on to the Sony and MS services to play those games on their respective consoles. The Bethesda log in happens in addition to logging on to those services and for a single-player game, non-always-on game.

Brad choosing to eat at Bojangle's over Burger King is the most correct choice. Not that I have anything against Burger King, but Bojangle's is so completely on another level. I wish I had one near me.

Drew! I missed this dude, employee #5. God damn I miss the old crew.

I dont want to be a bore, but brad really missed the point of 'lost in translation' if he was thinking Bill Murray was too old for scarlet.

Who is this “Drew” character? What does he mean there is no more Yogoslavia? There was last time I checked. Although, I haven’t checked in a very long time. I don’t trust him!

Wooo Drew. Loved to hear about that X-plane plugin. Wonder if that attracts more professionals than that mod that hooks into flight sim & X-plane. I guess it would, if you have to pay a subscription price for it hmm?

I'm so confused about the talk around Fantasy Strike. During the quicklook they assumed it only cost 20$ and ended pretty much with the conclusion that anything more than 20$ would be too much. But now Jason is like 'yeah it's 30$ so a cheaper game.' ???? I think people forgot that Rising Thunder, the game that targeted casual players that are not into fighting games yet by actually making the game free2play. Which non-fighting game player is going to spend 30$ on this small game when the playerbase might be gone within a few weeks? Which fighting game lover is going to spend 30$ on a game that they don't care for themselves but might be somewhat interesting when their friends come around that don't play fighting games much? It just seems like such a strange userbase to target.

Brad seems under the assumption that Wolfenstein 3 has to be a follow up to Youngblood, but i don't think that's all that likely. This game is clearly a smaller project by a different developer. It won't sell as well as the first 2 games. When they make the actual Wolfenstein 3, they will end the 'trilogy' with what people want. What will the mainstream audience want as a closer you reckon? Kill (Mecha-)Hitler & save America from Nazi's as the character & crew they have established over the past 2 games , or mop up the last nazi remnants in countries like Poland & Austria while the big baddie has been killed off screen a while ago? I know what i would place my bets on. You knowing that BJ eventually will kill Hitler is not like a huge spoiler. You knew that it would go that way from the get go. You can still make a great end of the trilogy despite knowing that Hitler will eventually die.

Regarding the Fortnite tournament, Ben nodded along when he was asked if everyone was on mouse & keyboard, but i heard conflicting news regarding this. I've heard that people were spamming the aim button for the auto-aim to snap on anyone that appears on screen, and that tournament organizers would try to avoid showing their cam because it just doesn't make for good footage to see people abuse the auto aim. And i've heard that there was this divide within the pro scene whether controller + auto aim should be a thing in competitive or not, with the pro auto-aim calling out the other party as 'sweats' (the new term for tryhard)? Did they drop controllers + auto-aim for the World Cup?

At last, that Klei game sounds pretty awesome. I need to see that.

I think the only Romantic Comedy I have ever watched and walked away from being wowed and really loving it was Annie Hall. Every other one I've seen has been incredibly stupid and awful, or just inoffensively palitible and uninspired.

Poor Drew, I feel badly for him. I wasn't interested in ClothMap when he announced it but I figured he'd do just fine with it. It's just been a consistently slow sinking ship for 2 years.
