Loving this guest oriented Bombcast

Sounds like a 5/10 podcast this week.

With Kallie on I hope this is 100% Fire Emblem and Pokemon related.

Well, I've had my fill of "yeet" and "slaps" for the millenium.

(Full disclosure: I'm nearly 50, so maybe that is acceptable youth-speak.)

Infiltration was not convicted of abusing his wife. WTF.

While the games covered and opening evo talk weren't for me I think overall the guests were great!

@escapee: Yeah, the EVO statement was extremely distasteful, but Ben also mischaracterized the situation a bit.

Also, no mention of the EXTREMELY problematic situation with CaptainZack and Ally. CaptainZack being a player who admitted to match fixing previous events while he was at EVO and has since been barred from competing at Smash Con.

He was, like, not cool, like, totally not cool. You gotta, like, represent, because, like, everybody are posers, like, totally not radical.

This bombcast was a great change of pace. Enjoyed the guests a lot!

Jesus, dropping a massive Fire Emblem spoiler 2 seconds after saying "no spoilers." I guess let this comment be a warning to everyone else.

Great guests, this was a fun change of pace from the usual. Opening those pokemon cards at the end makes me want more of that good Jan pokemon content, though.

Infiltration was convicted of domestic abuse, actually. Ben was right. He lost a court case and was fined by the RoK government. Panda Gaming's investigation revealed that he likely would have received jail time for the same conviction in the USA.

@escapee: He was convicted enough by a judicial system that is very likely in favor of men while she just wasn't a perfect victim.

@spacejordan: I never read any definitive conclusions and still can't find any myself - I'm going to assume you're correct since I know you to be on the level. I retract my indignation.

God that episode was fucking unbearable. Hopefully we get back to the normal content next week.

McDonalds sucks!

Drink every time Michael shouts out something or does weird hand gestures to the camera.

I wish I could get into to all this Evo hullabaloo~ Its awesome to see Ben super excited and passionate about it but might as well be speaking another language.

Loved this episode, unfamiliar with these guests, glad to hear some new voices. Also kind of sad some folks in the comments here just disregard the GB main rule : don't be a jerk. Criticism is totally fine, but you don't have to be rude.

This is the most anime episode ever, I love it!

I would 100% take up parking lot wizard in an instant. If I could go on a trip without having to worry about maintaining my meat sack that would be wonderful.

Also, I don't think the McDonalds tastes exactly the same...I never tried the US one, but EU one tasted different (also, they have partially different menu). Also, I prefer to believe that they clean their stuff here in Japan

Unbearable indeed. Does GameSpot cater to 13 year olds? Because their staff certainly sounds like the embodiment of obnoxious gamer youths. I am all for having guests on the show, it makes the formula fresh. But I also (naively) like to think that no one really talks like that in real life, which makes it all the more poser-like.

Best Bombcast in a while!

Real fun Bombcast! As a Filipino, I loved all the mentions of our culture! Dinuguan is good but mad unhealthy. Chickenjoy is also good, but real talk, the suits that own Jollibee here in the Philippines can fuck off with its contractualization bullshit.

And yeah, the Giant Bomb staff, friends of the site, and a lot of the community can in fact talk about all the fun stuff we get up to with video games and politics. Who would've thought we're a bunch of complex people whose lives actually get affected by real world issues and don't revolve solely around "having a good time"?!

Also, fucking seriously with the "not a real gamer" accusations at yet another woman? Are you fucking twelve?

Lotta folks here showing their whole ass about how privileged and small their lives are. Interact with different people, please, and broaden your perspectives.

I respectfully ask this in regards to the Ooblets controversy: If you say something to the effect of "Death threats are horrible but", just stop. Show some compassion. Just leave the "but" part of the sentence in your head.

@effache: The time skip was featured in the E3 trailer for the game, and portraits of the house leaders post-time skip were marketed on Nintendo's Twitter. Not a spoiler.

@shadow987: man if you're expecting nothing but video game talk from Giant Bomb (you know the site that can go on 40 minute tangents about food, movies, anime, TV or wrestling in podcasts) you're in the wrong place. Ironically what you're complaining about WAS related to games too.

Hell, I think Giant Bomb needs to get back to its real roots and return the Bombcast to its original form: reviews of sports drinks.

@effache: Glad I slipped ahead as soon as they said "Fire Emblem". I tend to not trust GB to not spoil stuff anymore, mostly because our definitions of "spoiler" seem to vary pretty wildly.

Besides that, this was a blast. EVO talk was good, serious talk was good, and e-mails were a fun mess. Love how it seems like most of the time they get younger guests on there's anime talk and then the comments get all curmudgeon-y about it. Anime is good~

Apparently PAX has been cancelling panels after accepting them? Hope your panels actually turn out this year!

Great podcast, the guests were a lot of fun. I felt like an old man listening to them at points, but it was still a good time.
