Congrats Jan! Also it continues to be fucking wild hearing the ongoing effects of the stay at home stuff from both coasts. Living in a state and working for a company that is still pretending that nothing is going on. My day to day life has not changed at all except for wearing a mask when I go out for groceries.

Maybe I'm a wierdo but I want a PS5 at launch just so I can play Last of Us 2 and Tsushima at best quality. Those are the launch games to me. Will just wait until PS5 is out to play both.

I said a couple weeks ago that I thought GamesCom would happen but I'm changing my tune now. After mayors of LA/NY said no big concerts this year, I feel like that set the tone for all major events throughout the country. It just can't happen. Seems a foregone conclusion that we will have a 2nd wave in October/November, albeit with advances in infrastructure, testing and treatment to better handle cases. Not to mention you have people like Zuckerberg saying no internal events until June 2021.

Not all doom and gloom though. One excellent development that I wish the gang would cover is all the music festivals happening in Minecraft. 100gecs, Orgami Angel, Heart Attack Man, American Football, Kero Kero Bonito, Anamanguchi, etc. It's kind of becoming the goto virtual venue which is cool as hell -- not to mention a lot of these festivals are donating to covid relief.

OK...follow me here. What if the PS5' case is an induction charger on top? Vertically it brings nothing to the party, but laid down flat, the top is segmented into separate wireless Qi charges and the controllers and all accessories are Qi compatible?

I wonder how that game is doing with everyone wanting to have a chill, relaxing game.

Don't know if it's just my headphones, but there's been a high-pitched whine in the audio version for me since they started doing these at home. I'm pretty sensitive to noise, so it's kind of distracting. It wasn't there last week though, so I'm assuming it's Brad's mic or setup.

I was going to say that Fallout New Vegas doesn't need mods to be played, but what do I know. I've played through the whole game (and Fallout 3) without VATS.

Days Gone's fuckin' great. Easily my favorite game of last year, even with some of the worst framerate I've ever experienced.

@enfo: I've seen enough people mention this that I've been listening for it when I edit the show every week, but I can't hear it. (Hope my hearing isn't going.) My Yeti is plugged into a 15-ft USB cable that's threaded through a bunch of other cables and powered electronics so I guess it could be picking up some interference?

Weirdly, haven't seen anyone mention this about any other video stuff I'm in, just the Bombcast, so I wonder if it's something that only the Google meeting is picking up.

Mario Maker 2 world builder looks incredible. This is all I ever wanted from these games and I was so sure nintendo didn't care about it at all, so that makes me even more happy about it. Minor nitpicks aside, 8 full worlds with their own themes and so much customization is more full featured than I ever expected. This will be enough for me to play mm2 again for atleast a short while.

@brad: I’ve been hearing for the past few weeks too. It’s usually when you or Jeff talk, but like you said I haven’t heard or noticed it on your solo streams either.

@bromic: Wasn't there a bunch of cut content that was restored via mods (like with knights of the old republic 2)?

It sits in my steam library along with many other games waiting for the day when I'm not working 70hrs a week or blowing up with anxiety over my living situation.

@ripelivejam: I’ve heard that Obsidian essentially ran out of time prior to finishing a lot of Caesar’s Legion content, which is why nearly a quarter of the map is basically empty. I’ve only ever played on the 360, but the idea of being able to play that cut content always makes me consider grabbing the game on Steam. The game is fine without the content (provided you play the DLC, which is great), but siding with Caesar’s Legion is less rewarding as a result, I’m guessing.

Also, I’ve seen wildly different experiences on the 360. My personal experience was losing one character (of many) to an autosave loading glitch a few hours into a game, but a friend of mine routinely fell through the ground on his 360. Might as well take the shot and if the glitches are ridiculous, just bail.

I was already about a month overdue for a haircut before all the quarantine stuff began. A couple of weeks in and my hair length was causing me suffering, so we had to order hair clippers. They took almost a month to arrive. I was just going to shave my hair off and not cared how it looked. But my mom always had thought about cutting our hair when we were kids but never did, so she wanted to try it out. It's not the best, but it got the job done.

I didn't know Banjo-Tooie had a reputation of being bad or worse. It was the first one I played (because my mom just bought it randomly with no context), so I actually prefer it to Kazooie.

Retro was rumored to have been working on a Star Fox racing game in the Wii U years. That always sounded like a terrible idea, even if it was like F-Zero. No idea if these rumors were true but I can see it considering Nintendo's attempt to reboot Star Fox and their Mario Kart history.

@brad: I definitely hear the high pitched whine too. Sounds like electrical interference or some sort of noisy wire especially when Jeff is talking. You can really hear it during the fallout discussion. Maybe even noise from the processor in someone’s machine? My first gen intel MacBook had that problem many years ago.

I think another reason Devs need to know what the controller looks like, is if you're going to have in game images of controller layouts/images, they'll need those resources during development.

I've recently tried Persona 5 too. It was my first JRPG and after about 20 hours I became so bored with it. I appreciate the style and the characters but my god there is so much talking and so little gameplay...

My wrestler weapon in Doom would shoot Randy Orton, in mid-RKO position, at the enemy, and if his model collides with the enemy he finishes the move on them.

I'm sure where Ben was looking about Retro Studios even said next to it it was just the DK tracks. cmon

@brad I recently started a playthrough of New Vegas with some mods, mostly quality of life and texture mods. It's a pretty fragile game, but if you install the right mods, it's pretty stable and it certainly looks and acts a lot better than the base game. If you want, I can make a list of the ones I'm using for you.

@lonelyspacepanda: I'm thinking a similar thing, but mostly about trials rising. I bought it for pc tonight because I was so fed up of the long load times on ps4, but despite it being installed to a raided set of ssds, an i7 8770K and a 2080Ti both slightly overclocked, it can't load in textures fast enough to avoid huge blurry patches constantly. Takes a noticeable while to load levels even, although it's much better than PS4. As Jeff mentioned, it would be grteat to play bloodborne at a steady framerate, but I don't know if that's more frame pacing than anything else given it's still hitchy on a Pro...

@robbie_twin: Yeah, Bloodborne wasn't made with future ports in mind so everything is built around the 30fps limit. That game is too loved to not eventually get some remaster for a future generation. I agree with you though. I primarily play on PC with super fast loads and playing FF7 Remake lately has been a slap to the face when I remember how long console load times are (and I'm playing digital on PS4 Pro) -- for games like Trials or Bloodborne where dying, loading and repeating is part of the process, a fast load is essential to keeping the game enjoyable imo.

Baron Corbin gun. Shoot at a demon, hold him in a headlock, put the controller down, play with your phone or make a sandwich, come back and you've automatically beaten the level but that's okay because it wasn't interesting to watch anyway.

@brad The electric whine is definitely there and has been since you guys have been recording from home. I think it's Jeff's line, not yours. But if you can't hear it, sorry to say friend, but you may be slightly losing your high-tone hearing.

I realize this is a late reply, but I hear the electric whine from @brad as well. I also heard it on your Astroneer videos with Vinny. Funnily enough I cannot hear it on your Brad Does a Good Job video from Mars 26. Either using the GB Player or Youtube, the whine isn't present. But I have been hearing it ever since, but I don't think there has been a solo vid from you, @brad, since then so it isn't conclusive if it only happens during your voice calls or not.

For the throwing out of the consoles out of the balloon question; Genesis, Game Gear, and Saturn. Not sorry.
