😅 well at least some news happened BEFORE The Beastcast this time, even though The Bombcast missed it 😬. Not saying it was good news, but still 🤷🏻‍♂️

@topcyclist: My dude, a bigger part of Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't just the rushed release, it was the mismanaged expectations coupled with extremely poor management. These are things that Star Citizen has. I'm not advocating for putting it out, but it's been 9 years and people are still unsure of what it actually is. That part feels like a scam at this point...or they're doing the thing that Theranos did and just keep stalling for more and more time and continuing to take money while they pray that a miracle happens at some point and everything is finished and perfect suddenly.

Either way, released or unreleased, it doesn't looked good. I feel very confident that the game sold to people will never come out.

Definitely going to need a full airsoft loadout tour from Jeff and Brad some day. What better time than when you're at home all day!

Thanks for the pod dudes.

Regarding Ghost of Tsushima, I couldn't disagree more with Brad on there needing to be more fantastical elements in the base game. Ninja Gaiden, Onimusha, Dark Souls, Nioh, etc. have those elements. While I have enjoyed some of those games, I feel that GoT would have been "another one of those" games if it leaned into yokai, etc. I enjoyed SP's more grounded take on Japan.

I'm going to have to send a clip or link with timestamp to friends and family on that mall discussion. It's similar to stuff we've been saying.

It also reminds me of previous discussions on the podcasts about Kevin Smith's Mallrats sequel. I thought malls couldn't be more antiquated to the zoomer generaion, but then the pandemic hit. Maybe it evolves into some Brodie as Mad Max in a vacant post apocalyptic mall at this point.

@pm_xenos: Those "loons" you try to pretend don't exist just invaded the Capitol, so maybe things are a bit bigger than you thought.

They're not some monolithic group. There are plenty of lazy alt right idiots that just say home shitposting. Think of them as separate arms of an octopus. By giving into their online trolls like claiming MacTonight or the okay hang gesture is linked to racism, just gives them more power. It's like that Simpsons ep with the living giant mascots. Stop giving them the attention. Don't feed the trolls. The alarmists at the ADL played right into their game by freaking out over cartoon frogs and 80s fast food mascots. I still like MacTonight and I still have a small sad Pepe on my desk I painted back when he was a goofy cartoon reposted from a webcomic. Though I do admit the idea that he represents some kind of ancient Egyptian elder god of chaos is kinda fascinating and is oddly similar to a comic book story idea I had over a decade ago.

Okay, no more hentai for you, Jeff.

Hey now. Sometimes Japan has live action videos like that too. Uh. So I hear. From... uh... other people.

I take it this comment section is ignorant of Saint Pepsi and that's okay.

I'm more of a Chuck Person or マクロスMACROSS 82-99 person myself.

Now that I think about it, all that music fits right in at abandoned malls in a post apocalyptic wasteland. It would fit in a retro-80s/90s Fallout-eque setting like those 50s songs were in Fallout. I guess Pogs could replace bottlecaps. Hmm.

@csl316: How is Old Orchard doing? Used to live in Chicago for a short time when I was younger. Around 2004/05. I would go there every couple weeks with my dad and walk around and see a movie.

I can't speak for Old Orchard, but I love living here. It's a fantastic city.

@pm_xenos: It's not feeding the trolls. We're past that. A swastika wasn't always the Nazi symbol. Shit changes, and you adapt appropriately.

@wardcleaver: I got the feeling he meant it more as a way to add more fun. Given jeff's take that the sequel could go into more interesting places with powers and what not. That said, Im guessing the crew wasnt expecting the game to play it so close to the chest with serious realism to the extent it did. Kinda like how Call of duty is fun but people who play it alot like jeff enjoyed adding speed, running on walls, slight jet packs, etc. But alot of fans didnt since they like Cod to be serious and normal. I personally am with ya. We have Nioh for the mythology aspects etc. Its nice of a game to be normal when you expect it to dig up the usual tropes. Not sure i saw that coming, really expected them to like that it was normal and someone to claim several games with powers exist already. If it adds mythology then its just like game 10202034 with yokia and demons yadda yadda.

@topcyclist: To me, GoT was fun because it was more grounded. Anyway, for the sequel, I hope they keep the more fantastical stuff in the DLC and the more grounded stuff in the base game.

@7ujmnbvfr456yhgt:Intelligence are using symbols like that to track down the people responsible for what happened this week and to track the ones planning the next one. I suggest that you cease clinging to ephemera so strongly.

I am confused why they are so surprised by the super market vaccine email. Supermarkets have been doing flu vaccines for a super long time. Before I got prescriptions mailed to me I always went to my target. I always expected target would be the place I would eventually get my vaccine as well, they have a great pharmacy there.

Had a ton of fun with Super Meat Boy Forever. I get the criticism and maybe part of it is I'm not attached to the original since I didn't enjoy it. But it's worth checking out despite the negative reviews. It's one of the most joyful, pure fun gaming experiences I had in 2020.

What's funny about Star Citizen is that Elite Dangerous is eating their lunch. A FPS expansion is being released this year that lets you walk outside your ship and do first person shooting stuff.

@homeslice: hate symbol huh.. gimme a break. Let's classify every 4chan scam as something real and associate it with the 19 white supremacists in America living in the woods!

Backbone time. The number of white supremacists is really small. Definitely smaller than people who are openly racist towards white people but we just ignore that and pretend it doesn't exist so... Yeah.

As for the capital riot... Yeah it happened but let's be honest here.. it wasn't a very large number of people, the police opened the barricade for them and there were members of antifa and the far left involved as well. So remove about 30% of the total people there then divide that group in half (and I'm being generous) which gives you about the number of racists that actually leave their houses and the other half were just absurdly stupid people.

It certainly doesn't justify the now permanent 3k-5k troops and razor wire fences. Was it bad? No question. Are they over reacting? Absolutely.
