@voidburger: You're right. It's the studio that gets recognition with the award, not the people themselves making it. And no Game Award™ is going to make someone feel good about working conditions that bad.

I probably spent damn near a thousand hours between those three GTA games. They were a big part of my video game life growing up. It's been real disappointing to see the state of that release. It's not even just the bugs - the overall direction of them is terrible. Tommy in Vice City looks like a goddamn Ken doll. I haven't touched any of those games in over a decade, and wouldn't mind replaying them. But not like that.

It's funny, the new CoD is being received somewhat poorly, but my friend got it and has been enjoying the hell out of it. He hasn't played CoD for a few installments. Not sure why he decided to jump back in on this one - I couldn't give two shits about another WWII-themed game.

First pronouncing it "goaty" and then declaring you eat raw pasta in the matter of minutes... not a good look for a new crew member!

I finished SA Definitive on Game Pass, had a blast with very minimal problems, barely any more than on the PS2. Felt great to play, looked great.

I can say as a matter of fact that you all saw the same several images and videos circling *everywhere* online and made silly assumptions.

Also RE the talk of GTAOnline, Rock* made RDR2 which, like or not, was made with care.

honestly, shouldn't 'indie' just be restricted to a certain amount of devs that worked on it? Like Grow Home is an indie game to me, despite being made by Ubisoft. Sure, they might have a lot more financial muscle to play with than a kickstarter game like Hyper Light Drifter, but those games still feel pretty comparable. I think if you set a limit of <30 devs, you'll get the bulk of indiegames in a category.

Or if you want to exclude the ubisofts of the world, you could require a team to have worked on a project by themselves BEFORE they get picked up by a big publisher.
