As someone who grew up with the Marathon series, I could not be less excited about what Bungie is pitching here. The originals were some of the most distinct, innovative things out there at the time. But no, let's make yet another paint-by-numbers shlooter that's going to be filthy with micro transactions. Wow. How original.

To the couch co-op person:

We had a blast in my home playing "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light" together. It has some fun cooperative puzzles based on subtle play style differences between the characters, very easy to grasp and understand how the game functions and what it expects of you, and it's structured in a way that is easy to complete in portions and take a break.

My wife also is very prone to motion sickness from games, and the higher, third person perspective never caused us any issues.

It's an older title by today's standards, but still a lot of fun.

Kinda weird how you completely ignored the elephant in the room with the Uncharted PC discussion, which is that they released Uncharted 4 before 1-3. Doesn't make much sense for me to get these games if I have no idea who these characters are and don't know their backstory.

I wouldn't call that the elephant in the room, it's a pretty minor thing, you get enough info about who the characters are in 4 that it doesn't really matter if you've played any previous games or not. There aren't really any plot points that don't make any sense if you haven't played the others.

I think in terms of it not having as much hype as other Sony releases, it's probably just cause it's been a way longer gap between its original release and the PC release compared to the other ports (6 whole years) and this PC version had almost zero fanfare, Sony was completely quiet about it since the first announced then only gave a release date a month before and it came out without that much advertisement, I really only knew when it was coming out because I was going out of my way to check in on the PC port every few weeks.

It's best to just play Trails in release order

The 3 Sky games first

Then you can play Zero/Azure and Cold Steel 1/2 in any order

but then make sure you've played all those before you play Cold Steel 3 because that's when all the plots from all those games really start to come together in an MCU Avengers style fashion but JRPGs

Maybe a new show idea should be Jeff Grubb trying to earnestly learn how to pronounce Japanese names and other foreign words so he doesn't have to do the shitty American butchering of other languages for a joke thing.

I love Jan but anytime he says "zaddy" it triggers a primal fight-or-flight response. I've never had a similar response to any other word.

I fear that if I ever have an interaction in real life with him it'll end in him getting a black eye.

Hot take: Sicario is bad and and Villeneuve is a bad director. Arrival was alright.

Sicario is pretty good but it's not a very pleasant watch. Sicario 2: "what if the war on drugs was actually really badass and cool" is terrible though.

Yeah i think it's a combination of older game, pretty high price, released with not much marketing in super busy period. It'll probably still sell plenty over time though.

Jeff Bakalar is always the one who gets called out on not being a fan of cats, but I wonder if Michael knows that Jan also doesn't like cats.
