Are there any plans to release an audio only version so we can listen as a podcast or will this show be more of a visual thing?

Well, I'm remembering the phrase 'six hours of piss' for future use.

I'm into this because I'm into TMTLN, but I've been wondering how much this would be like their usual banter and how many like, "blue" jokes there would be and right out the gate are the paedophilia and 9/11 jokes.

Going to be interesting to see how the GB audience reacts to it.

I'm really not sure why they're starting with this album, firstly because it's not even three months old and has hardly had any time to gain any kind of reputation for failure and secondly because... is this even considered that bad? I'm no expert on Weezer but I feel like they've put out albums that were MUCH more poorly received than this. Also these people don't even seem terribly familiar with Weezer in the first place and mostly seem to be versed in heavy metal and punk and aren't doing a great job of contextualizing this within their career.

Gave it a shot but definitely not for me humor or content-wise. Totally glad to see other folks digging it though and I hope this does well!

I enjoyed this. I was really hoping for some of the album to get played during the riff session though. I suppose that this isn't possible due to content rights of course, but I was hoping that at least short clips could be played? I guess the answer is me going and listening to the episode's album front to back before listening to this... but dammit I'm lazy!

I'm glad people are liking the show. It is going to be impossible to please everyone. Jeff wants the site to be weird and varied and I think this show is the first real hint of that. We're gonna see what works and what doesn't. I'm excited to see what's to come and I'm open to giving all the new stuff a shot beyond first episodes.

It's a challenge. The internet's tendency is to rate everything either the greatest thing ever or the worst. So we will see!

Just finished, great first episode! I like the chemistry, excited to see the 2M2LN crew join the GB cinematic universe. I've tried a bunch of times to get into Weezer and other than a few singles I've largely bounced off. When I saw Van Weezer was announced I was intrigued and thought it'd be...well, anything other than what it was lol

i was willing to give this a shot but about half way into it it was just some of the worst podcast stuff i'd listened it in a while so definitely not for me i guess. idk i don't mind listening to the usual staff and friends of the site randomly go on a tangent about music i don't care about but something with this set of ppl just did absolutely nothing for me. guess i'll chalk it up to about 30mins of my life i'll never get back...bummer

This is the show that sold me on Nu Bomb. Haven't been into the others, but this is my shit. I wasn't familiar with them at all prior to this, but I'll be checking out their other shows.

I'm sure it's a rights thing, but I would kill to have them play some clips of the album itself on the show, if only because otherwise I have to listen to the thing myself and I don't wanna do that. Nobody wants to listen to Van Weezer!

Not a bad start for the show, though! I will come back for another one of these.

I'm old. I'll fully admit that The Blue Album has a special place in my heart from when I was a senior in High School. That said, Beverly Hills was the last time I remember a hit song by them that I was like, "This is fine." The cover of Toto by Africa just sounds like a karaoke of the original song and I didn't understand why it was so popular (the original is way better IMO). Anyway, this was a fun new show. Glad GB is trying some new content.

All of this said, I noticed this dropped on YT. When the Weezer army arrives, please take pride in the amount of downvotes you are going to get.

This may be the sort of thing you wait a year or so, then pick the few episodes that discuss albums you're familiar with, instead of watching (no idea why this is video) every week, or however often it comes out. It's like a movie "presented by Quentin Tarantino," but you never really get much feel for why it's being presented by someone you like.

Ehh. Yeah, I gave this a shot, watched 45mins of the video, but this just isn't for me.

On paper this is very much for me, since I listen to lots of podcasts about albums and the ones where they rip into bad ones are often my favorite. In practice, the humor in this first episode was kind of cringe and the burns didn't particularly hit, other than maybe the running pedophilia joke but even that I think could have been tighter. I also think 5 people is maybe too many for a relatively quick and simple show. A lot of the bits end up getting interrupted or just lost in the chaos. Anyway, I'll give it a couple more episodes to see if it gets better.

I don’t get the point of dunking on creative endeavors. It feels pointless and cheap. There is no real chemistry and everybody appears to be waiting for somebody else to make a good point. Nobody knows anything about the band and it feels like children who think they are "artists" tearing down "established artists". No, thanks. I am sure "they really tried"…

@kennneth: Funny as a comment for this particular video since it is basically saying a bland Weezer album is the worst thing ever. I wanted to like this. The people seem funny enough and they got off some good lines, but shitting on other people's work is such empty, soulless comedy that I've never been able to get into and nothing here is particularly insightful or funny. I'll give the next one a view if it is about weirder, less mainstream music.
