I feel like Jeremy is onto something with this album just being a dump to get out of their deal. I looked up the new single mentioned and, while it's not amazing, it sounds like Green Day, when this album does not.

"Vibe theft" is such an appropriate description of this album. I hope the band sent a royalty check, or at least an expensive gift basket, to Wavves.

I didn't dislike this album! If you had told me it was someone other than Green Day, I could have easily ignored it. There are some tracks (particularly the last three) that made me give YouTube some side eye, but the majority was inessential, listenable fluff. I'm glad group opinion was split on it, made for some interesting discussion on the back half of the episode.

This show is consistently great. New Giant Bomb is kicking ass

This album is baffling. They abandoned their outdated pop-punk sound to pursue an even more outdated Jet-inspired sound. I understand wanting to take a new direction as a band, but this was just so not the move.

I say this every week, but this is my new favorite episode. That cholesterol bit had me rolling.

Somehow this album was offensively inoffensive, like I hated how little I cared about it. Just have to accept that these boys no longer make music for me despite them thinking they do, and me wanting them to.

Love the twist in the discussion that turns it from just being a dumpfest on Green Day and this album.

Instead of bitching on here, you could just cancel your sub and then send a polite email to support perhaps requesting a refund for the remainder of the time on your sub. They're usually pretty helpful.

oh MAN, I checked out this album on Youtube to see how bad it really was and ya'll are NOT joking. Every single track sounds like it was perfectly formulated to be in a car commercial. It's uncanny how soulless it is

RIP to the triple rock

I haven't listen to any of these albums, but I've been enjoying the discussions about the bands. Maybe I can listen to them but ehhhhh........

This was the first episode where I listened to the album beforehand, mainly because it's so short but mostly because I haven't heard a new Green Day song since the cover of "The Saints Are Coming" they did with U2, so I was really curious to see what 2021 Green Day sounded like. I absolutely wasn't expecting this album. The only word I could think of to describe it was "uncanny", like someone fed a bunch of albums into a bot and this is what it produced. Kind of The Polar Express of music; something just feels off about it.

That being said, I fell on the Jeremy/Lucie side of things. I didn't dislike it, and thought it was perfectly pleasant most of the time, but I was also really baffled by it throughout.

Dillinger 4 is infinitely better than Green Day. Same with Pinhead Gunpowder. Idk how this album came to me.

A hot dog is actually the perfect symbol for Green Day. Every Green Day album you listen to takes 36 minutes off your life.

I love this album and listened to it a lot over the last year & I couldn’t listen to this episode for more than 20 minutes! Get rid of this junk please; Unfunny people’s negative takes on albums doesn’t fit with this site at all. Also, If you can’t rock out to Take the money and crawl you must be so boring.

@putzworldwide: its fine for people to like different things dude, but also if you had listened for 5 minutes longer you'd have heard that 2 of the 5 actually liked the album. People say about every episode that this show is all negative and I don't think that has been true a single time.
