Since they talked about actors doing music and stuff, are Scarlett Johannsen's albums any good? I remember working in Best Buy years ago and seeing she had an album and maybe her singing voice was kinda droney?

Can't beat Sean Connery's In My Life or William Shatner's classic Common People.

@threeoct: I don't think they were terrific or anything, but I also don't think they were fiascos and she collaborated with some good people. The problem is that she chose to do Tom Waits songs and there are so many covers of his and then she does a fake Serge Gainsbourg thing, and maybe she should just explore her own identity?

Is it possible to shout out what the next album will be? I know hardly any of the albums discussed and would like to know what they are ahead of time to get a chance to listen to them before the episode comes out. It was posted on the "Upcoming" shows for the first couple episodes but it hasn't been up there for the past few weeks.

The thing that's hard to know now since we're so far past it is that Moonlighting was like, pretty huge. It was one of the biggest shows for half its run, and by the end of it Willis was almost definitely a star.

Also there was a porn parody of Moonlighting called "Moonlusting." I know that now.

These just keep getting better and better. Loved the Nardwuar-style deep-dive research into Bruce Willis's weird company town (and the shoutout to Nardwuar himself!).

i work in a thrift store and i go over the music and book donations for shelving, and no word of a lie, when my phone alerted me to this video's upload, i was holding a copy of The Return of Bruno on cassette in my hand

Holy shit that Idaho town story on the Independent is nuts. There are a lot of things to process, but the weirdest one to me was how Bruce bought a mansion (second one from the same guy) so he could give it to Demi Moore as a 30th birthday present, and she filled it with 2,000 dolls!

I don't know if this counts as "movie star turned musician" but I know the guy who voiced the son on The Incredibles is the guitarist for Charly Bliss. I enjoyed their first album a whole lot!
