This was definitely one of the best things the site has done. At times Alex was drumming (on expert!) while talking to Vinny while watching the donations and getting 95% and up. Amazing.

Hmm... This video doesnt seem to be showing at the Extra Life video category.

People should feel free donate to whatever charity they feel is important to them, even if it isn't this one. Personally I felt GB didn't explain the purpose of the charity enough, and when I looked in to it, it wasn't something I felt I needed to donate to over some of the other charities I already support.

@shtinky: fair enough but the motivation for the steam was to raise money for this charity that Giant Bomb chose to support. If you don't want to support that effort, that's fine. I was more than happy to support them and very proud of the total so far.

I thought it was posted in every link on the site and mentioned in chat and in the stream that the money was going to the Childrens Hospital in Oakland. 100% of the money raised goes to the hospital.

But if you didn't see it or it wasn't clear that's cool too. I could easily have remembered it from last year.

This will be a nice background music for work.

Alex single-handedly made this Extra Life for me personally and got me to donate. Not to disregard any of the hard work the rest of the crew put in, but man what a great stream, and good playlist of songs.

This was such a joy to watch, so much fun and some seriously badass talent on display. Alex, you are awesome.

At the day of the stream, I started watching Alex while eating lunch. Later that day Alex was blasting at my workplace and I got two kinds of questions: 1) is it a man or a robot? and 2) how could he be so cool?

I am always amazed at how much money they raise especially at how much comes from other countries and states. Cool stuff. I am amazed you are still not a drummer in a band! You really should try to get back into one as you definitely seem to have talent.

Goddamn, this is amazing. I've watched the first hour of this now. And I mean watched, I actively stared at Alex playing the drums on Rock Band.

This is weird to say, and a little backwards, but seeing a competent drummer do well at Rock Band actually gives me an even bigger appreciation of their skill.

Alright, so I have a friend I play Rock Band with regularly who I would say is roughly as skilled with the (Rock Band) drums as Alex seems to be. Point is, I get plenty of Rock Band firsthand, and thus I may not feel especially compelled to watch this stream if it is mostly just him playing the drums. How much banter/stories/whatever is there to go with the playing?

This was such an amazing stream to watch / listen to. I got a new found appreciation for Rock Band and how good and believable the drumming sounds & looks.

Anybody know if he played any Rush songs? I need to see this. lol
