These shorter and shorter a quick looks are unsatisfactory, like getting home from McDonald's and they forgot the sweet n sour sauce.

@steveurkel: That was kind of the original point of the quick look though.

The way Dan plays these games is amazing. Don’t care about skill and story, just having fun. I love it!

@trey1death: yeah I've been watching them since those days but it doesn't change the fact I wanna see Dan play more of this. The longer ones are some of the most entertaining ones because they're usually super into them. I would be ok with Dan just playing this for an hour or ten.

This is really really fun and ended way too soon is all I'm saying.

@steveurkel: On the odd occasion when a game like this pops up and the crew are clearly having fun with it, it usually makes it onto another feature. I agree I could watch Dan play this all day but this was all it needed to be for a QL. I could see this being a play date some time! Hopefully that'll happen.

I had no idea about this game until now and will more than likely pick it up. Looks really good.

This seems different and I love how when you rob someone you get their whole inventory, that is a feature that is missing from way too many game.

Speaking of chaotic games though, did anyone know Just Cause 4 has had some big updates that make it ... good? You can destroy train bridges now, I hope they play date that at some point because it had potential to be good but sucked at launch.

The visuals are giving me a real Postal 1 vibe, not so much GTA 1/2.

GTA: San Andreas had a home invasion mini-game. In GTA V you can hold up convenience stores. As usual, Dan is doing a great job of selling Kansas as a podunk destination.

All I want to know about this video was if anyone sang "American Woman" with the word "fugitive" replacing woman.

"No one has done GTA Nostalgia."

Like Retro City Rampage & Shakedown: Hawaii? Or lesser extent Hotline Miami?

RCR and Shakedown:Hawaii are further removed from GTA 1 and 2 than American Fugitive is, though; I'd actually argue that the former tried to be more like "top-down/isometric GTA 3 homage".

Anyway, I had this game on my wishlist for some time, and pulled the trigger based on the quicklook. The "burglary/robbery" aspect is a really neat mechanic, as is the ability to "case the joint" around your particular targets.

Currently playing the game fairly straight - buglarizing only when necessary; tying up the homeowners if caught in the act - and the option for a playthrough where you're *not* playing as a hyperactive psychotic murderous gerbil is refreshing (love ya Dan!)

I believe it sells itself as inspired by Chinatown Wars. Anyone else hate when games directly reference another game in order to sell itself? So embarrassing.

This was a fun Quick Look! Thanks, Dan and Abby!

Also, does anyone know if you can do non-lethal runs in this game? I'm a bit less trigger-happy than Dan tends to be!

Came to this late but I read the comments. Dan does a pretty good job of explaining how this game operates, he doesn't just assume Abby knows what it is. Sometimes I feel like I've watched a different QL than other people when I read comments.

Dan gives a couple sentences about how the old GTA games were like this, before 3 changed everything. That is context

@borealum: It'd be pretty hard to play the COMPLETE game non-lethally (there are a couple of story missions which consist of "Defend yourself from the Bad Guys With Guns",), but all melee attacks are considered to have KO'd your victims rather than killed them. And at 6 hours in, the only "cop-kill" on my record is from a cop stand next to his own patrol car and shooting it until it exploded while trying to hit my crouched self a few meters away. (I've definitely beat the shit out of several dozen crooked cops, though!)

Just re-reminded why I never liked the GTA's, beyond an unexplainable exception for Vice City.

Extends to this game.
