Unity was also smack dab in the era of community challenges and mobile tie in and all kinds of mess. It was a beautiful mess.

I hope the countering is not as difficult as Alex made it seem. Deft combat with dodges and counters depending on enemy types and weapon load outs are some of my favorite parts of the series. An elegant, skilled dualist is some of the best of AC.

@cikame: They look like lifeless Ken dolls, with similar stilted movement and emoting. The lighting model and most of the texture work looks great, but the character models are like 6+ years old at this point.

I'm kind of surprised the faces and animations look so much worse than the older AC's, though. It's something I noticed in Watch Dogs Legion as well. Might be due to development under pandemic conditions?
Just look up some video's of cut-scenes in AC Unity (which was released 7 years ago): it looks almost like real people are talking to eachother, instead of some game characters..

Even for a current gen game I feel the presentation leaves a LOT to be desired. Ubisoft really needs to overhaul their entire animation system soon because boy... there's some jank.

That said, much like Legion, I'll probably pick this up eventually on a sale because I'm a sucker for games set in my neck of the woods.

Kinda looking to play one of these...wonder if I should just go back and get Origins.

I am not a player of the AC franchise outside of being wowed by the premise of the first game, but this looks... boring! It really just reminds me of the setting of Dragon Age Inquisition and makes me want to play something with a multi-character story because just having my one dude running around seems boring to me. But... that's just me, and nothing here looked interesting. Thank you for previewing for us guys, I wish I could get more excited!

I just wish that Ubisoft would take a risk and just make an RPG outside of the AC verse. Feel like AC has really lost the plot at this point.

This sure doesn't look good from an animations and visual sorta perspective.

I haven't played an AC game since Brotherhood, and watching this, I think I'm finally ready for another. Everyone says "it's just like the last two" but... I didn't play the last two. I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised.

the writing in this game is so over the top and cringey. it's like some weird high school theatre production.
