Dan Ryckert is truly the worst human being.

This is exactly why I have zero interest in any new Star Wars films. Disney and their board of overseers have no faith in the audience being ok with a movie in the same universe that doesn't feel comfortable.

I'd say this started well before Disney.

The Prequels and Expanded Universe, with a few exceptions, were all "HEY, REMEMBER WHEN!?"

From little kids with baby light sabers using the laser drone that Obi-Wan used to teach Luke on the Falcon to that story that takes place 125 years in the future that literally just has "WHAT IF EMPIRE WAS REBELS AND REBELS WERE EMPIRE?!" it's ALWAYS been incredibly derivative and, with the exception of something like X-Wing/TIE Fighter had zero experience in the audience to stay interested without The Force.

oh hey i'm an eagle scout! It helped that the majority of my friends were in scouts so that helped me stay active in it. I even know the scout oath and scout motto.

@hollitz: Agreed! The prequels actually seem a bit better when you look at what Disney is doing. At least the prequels were new, and added a lot of awesome stuff to the star wars universe. Not sure these new films tread any new ground. They simply repeat old ideas. The prequels were much, much different from the OT. Despite if people liked them or not, Lucas added a lot of great stuff to the world/ lore.

I am really sorry you guys were teased. I was kind of a bully as a kid. I feel horrible about it now. Grew out of it by high school (developed part of brain that contains empathy). If I think back I could probably work myself into tears over some of the things I said to my peers. I am thankful you guys managed to become the people you are today, in spite of the horrible shit dumb kids do. Thanks for all the great work.
