Wait!? It's been a few years since I played League of Legends, but I remember there being active items. Is that no longer the case?

Would love to see Ben/Jan doing similar 'first looks' of other MOBA's as well... maybe even rank them.

Ben and Brad should do a 101/newbie vid on DotA and lol so us who have never played a moba can understand wtf is going on and maybe understand enough to try them out.

Huh. I imagined the tower range indicators in dota came from League. Especially as League's towers hit harder.

i am so happy.... i play and like me some League of Legends and i think its gotten a bad rap around here. I hope this isn't just Ben dunking on it but lets see.

Glad to see Jan is making appearances on this again. A solo B&B is nice but company is always welcome.

I don't have the patience to learn MOBAs, but I do think they're fun to watch. Plus, I will watch literally anything with the Ben/Jan duo; they have an outstanding dynamic.

Jokes aside I'd be totally down with Ben doing a "MOBA World Tour" taking a look at all of them. They mentioned possibly trying Cho'gall in HotS and that could be an interesting way to look at that game. Trying a hero that's very different than other mobas and has both Ben and Jan controlling parts of the hero could make for an entertaining stream.

@matthewgm: And that 2011 video is from the developer. This right here is the first Giant Bomb content on the most played game in the world, since the Quick Look in 2009 (9 years ago). I would have liked to see more as I play it, but damn, they really do only what they want with absolutely no concern for what's popular, and that's respectable.

Ever since I played HotS for a good while I can actually watch mobas and understand what´s going on so that´s nice.

Speaking of, and I know it´s brought up in the video, but add me as someone who´d like to watch Ben play Heroes on one of these streams. I´ve played Cho´gall (the two-player ogre) quite a bit with a friend and it can be pretty fun. Though it requires less communication when synchronizing skill use than one might think, which I think is a bit of a shame. Also, Heroes being a game that requires you to "buy" its heroes makes it so that getting Cho´Gall is going to require a bit of an investment, be it time or money, beforehand, if that´s what they want to do.

Luckily, I think only one player needs to own the character for 2 to be able to play it though.

Now play some Paladins and HotS!

Loved this video, never thought I'd see League of Legends on GB!

What the heck is this? LoL on Giant Bomb?! I had my League days earlier this decade and only really stopped because my friend group moved on. Its strange to see that while items and some characters have changed a lot, its still very much the game I remember. I'm pretty excited to see a LoL video even if I don't play it anymore, it always seemed weird to me that not a single person on staff played or cared about the most popular video game in the world.

Instead of the "Ranking of Fighters", it could be the "Measuring of MOBAs". ;)

Ben is actually pretty damn impressive as a first time player. That probably comes from playing dota, but it's really interesting how you already know things like wave management and knowing power levels, referring to certain spells as nukes and knowing what to level based on that (I had to use a guide for the first time). For the wave management thing, even people in high diamond barely do that.

So this is clearly proof that dota players are smarter when it comes to mobas. More of this, please! I play a lot of league and it's interesting to see how new players react to it because I barely remember my first time playing it.
