Tag Team Racing is the good one. I enjoyed the out of race platforming stuff.

Not all tracks in this are from the original PS1 game, some are from the sequel on PS2. Video gives misinformation, maybe do some more research next time.

@alien765: he only played the main story line so maybe he never saw the new levels. He doesn't say its a negative thou.

Every track from Crash Nitro Kart is in this, and you never see those in Adventure mode, because that's just a faithful recreation of the story campaign that was in the PS1 game.

I haven't gotten to start this QL yet, but if he's anything like me and just hasn't played a ton of it yet, the drifting feels (to me) just different enough to Mario Kart that I'm having a hell of a time using it effectively, and it's been hard to practice because anytime I HAVE tried to use it early on it's boned me up because I've screwed up the turn. I don't know if it's just a slightly different sensitivity or what, but I feel like I always over turn and run into the wall I'm going around.

Anyway, what I came here to ask is: has anyone else noticed kind of really long load times? I'm on the Xbox One X...load times don't bother me, I just was genuinely surprised at how long they felt. Particularly before loading up the HUB world (which I somewhat understand), but even between races just felt kind of surprisingly long.

The original CTR was a damn good game. Glad to see this plays well and isn't a framey mess, though the load time issue does seem like a problem. Now I've got to decide what platform to get it on!

That said, when they started talking about Crash Bandicoot names, my mind started spinning and a I had a fair number of games from the original trilogy pop up in my head. I was a PS1 kid.

CTR is better than every Mario Kart until DS.

EDIT: Also, it is my understanding that this game takes characters and some tracks from later games and incorporates into this one.

Crash franchise is in a weird place now, I feel like a new platformer is basically guaranteed at this point but what do they do with it? A direct follow on to Crash 3? That's what I want but this integrates Nitro Kart which is including the chars from the GBA and Wrath of Cortex games, and Nitro Kart itself...

Dunno I am probably overthinking this but do we then go on through to Twinsanity continuity and do follow up game to that? Reboot again?

Final thought...Crunch was always redundant and inferior Tiny and I want to never see him again, I know Tiny is a tiger not bandicoot but come on they are so basically the same character.

As someone who mostly only stuck to Crash 1, I'm surprised Koala Kong and N. Brio somehow didn't make it into Nitro-Fueled.

I just don't have a need for this with MK8 still being my go to kart racer, also a ton to play on the Switch right now. Might pick it up next year on a sale or something though.

@loktarogar: They're adding new characters over time (starting today with the four trophy girls from original CTR plus Tawna from Crash 1) and dataminers claim to have found data referencing Koala and Brio as future content updates.

It takes some time to learn, but once you get the hang of the boosts, and once you learn about how to take advantage of the boost reserve system the game uses to maintain turbo speeds, this game easily blows Mario Kart out of the water. Way more engaging than snaking or fire-hopping ever were.

Been playing a bit of this and from what I remember they really cranked the difficulty up on this. I started on Hard which seemed damn near impossible, then switched to Normal and it's fine. I like how every comment Dan makes about the game (positive or negative) he also gets a parting shot in to defend the honor of his beloved.

Sure, these characters are not as popular and wellknown as the mario characters, but i think all these characters look pretty fantastic. ESPECIALLY THAT POLAR BEAR :O

Like how many of the mario kart characters would we have forgotten if that franchise just stopped 20 years ago? All those koopa kids, different hair-coloured princesses & alternative versions of the same characters would leave many scratching their head. I'd rather have a diverse bunch of humanized animals in karts (with or without pants, with or without creepy smiles, with or without sixpack) than 9 different koopa's personally.

Also, maybe this is nostalgia speaking, but everything about this old ass game looks so much more fun than Sonic Team Racing. In all these years, this ancient game still looks better to me.

Of course Dan's doing the gatekeeping BS of challenging Abby and Alex to name Crash Bandicoot characters to prove that CTR can't be as good as Mario Kart.
