Burnout Takedown is a game that has never been matched in terms of speed and also nothing has came close to the majesty in video games that is Crash mode.

I mean, I get it, Burnout Paradise was a great game for friends and cruising around the world - but as an actual racing game it totally sucked ass because you had to drive back to the start of the race EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don't care it was patched out, that was THE WORST trying to get all of the cars and it just made it a total drag at launch (ya know, when they are trying to build a fan base). They also will be labeled as monsters in the annals of history for removing Crash mode, a pinnacle of the burnout series.

Burnout Takedown 2019 or 2020 made by Criterion would just be the best thing ever, but I fear this may be the closest we get for the time being.

The car handling looks really bad. Maybe it feels good to play, but the way his car darts around the screen and especially when he comes out of a drift just looks totally weightless. Also, those crashes look terrible, with no deformation to the body and the wheels just kind of fall off.

Maybe the guys' nostalgia for Burnout 3 is coloring their expectations here, but to me this game doesn't look very good. And "but hey it's $20" isn't much of an excuse in my opinion.

Edit: All that being said, wow this video gets amazing when it becomes Jeff's Spotify hot takes.

As a huge Burnout 3 fan, yeah they finally got there with this game but I'll wait for a sale and some hopeful patches that fix some issues.

Anyone know whether the game has wheel support?

The crashes in this game seem no where near as good as they are in Burnout 3.

This does look a lot like Burnout 3.

The only complaint I have from watching this video anyway is that Burnout 3 had way more road traffic on its levels, I feel like. They should add more non-player vehicles.

Burnout was a good series at the time, but I think it's time we all moved on. This studio is trying to hang on to that past and is giving people hope to relive the glory days but by now it seems like they don't have the staff, the talent or the budget to make it happen and instead are putting out these not even B-games but like C to D tier budget releases you might have found in a Comp USA budget bin back in the day.

At one point someone will make a really great arcade racing game, but it's probably not going to be these guys. Need for Speed Rivals was an interesting take on an open world driving game with takedowns and challenges and a pretty good mix of aracde-to-semi-realistic driving physics. Maybe one day someone will continue down that path (probably not).

Looks promising. Will nab if/when it comes to Steam, as long as it doesn't require an Epic account for multi. Already cancelled that account, not gonna re-open it.

WHERE IS GIRLFRIEND?

Tree Fields' trajectory has always gone towards a modern Burnout. And this is the biggest boost forward yet, in that it's kind of Burnout 3.

It sucks what happened to Criterion and that Three Fields basically had to start over from scratch. Considering that, and the budget and resources available, I think what they've managed here is quite commendable. Hope they'll keep that chain boost going.

Don't think their previous games have done great, and while Dangerous Driving ought to do a lot better, it's not a guarantee that it'll do enough better.

So I'm basically neutral regarding the Epic moneybags in this case.
Not gonna be happy about it, but you know, I get it.

Saying "I came into this with such low expectations" and being impressed by this is so confusing. I can see the gang is getting excited about people getting excited, but is this really it? Also, no music? Really?

This appears to handle terribly. Jeff hits nearly every wall because the controls look like the way a car moves i n a mobile game, like no weight here at all.

I really liked this Spotify integration Quick Look.

i admire the dedication to copy an old game, but i'm not sure that this 2019 product is even on the same level as the thing they went for.

You can tell the cars have absolutely no weight to them and there is something so incredibly off with the sense of speed like someone else pointed out it just seems sped up 2x. I almost threw up watching this quick look on a 55 inch TV and had to turn it off halfway through. I am not the only one saying this doesn't look ANYTHING like burnout takedown, seriously go play or watch a video of burnout takedown - even the textured roads in this 2019 game look WORSE than a game from 2004? What the fuck. How.

I have bad news for all of the people refusing to use the Epic Launcher, it's not going anywhere and more and more games are becoming exclusive to it because of the better cut/less bloated by insane/garbage games storefront.

This game looks great, I just preordered it.

But the next game being like Burnout Paradise? Please no... I don't get the reverence for that game. Burnout Paradise is not as good as the previous Burnout games, just keep making games like the good Burnouts and let EA eventually make the god awful inevitable Burnout Paradise 2 'live game'.

@luthair: I'd love to know this too, if it does I'll get the PS4 version since I have the PS4 wheel, if not, probably get the Xbone version since it'll likely run slightly better or higher res on my X.

I would pay more for a subscription to have a series where Jeff just goes through all the worst shit on Spotify.

Their art and style is just so atrocious in all their games post-Burnout. The UI, the art, it's just so ugly and like a phone game.

Anyone know if this replaced the totally accurate battle simulator live that was on the schedule? I am not seeing it anymore and thought they were gonna play that game when I saw them playing this I figured I missed it but don't see it on the site anywhere.
