God, I played this demo disc for dozens of hours.

Nvm: Thought this was the Green Pizza Hut disc with THPS.

Aww man, demo discs. That tie dye PS1 disc with Tekken 2 got so much playtime. Made me a Tekken fan 4 lyfe!

But it only had a video for Twisted Metal 2, boo!!

Really like the Dan and Drew combo. Seems like some great new Premium content!

edit: Also I would totally watch Dan and Drew playthrough all the Metal Gear Solid games!

i remember playing to death the Ascendancy and Capitalism demos. oh and Mechwarrior 2, that was glorious back in the day.

I played soooo many of these demo discs. PSUnderground and I had this disc as well. Still have a whole bunch in my parents' basement, along with the accompanying OPM magazines.

Tomb Raider was the weirdest game. Even as a kid I thought it was so hilarious that I had to slowly walk to the edge of a platform, square up to it, hop backward 1 space, just so I had enough room to pull off a maximum-length running-jump. Except Dan's wrong, and Tomb Raider 2 was the best, followed by 1 (because T-Rex).

The Tomb Raider games are classics.

PS1 demos were my childhood in the UK, had so many magazine, pizza hut, and mcdonalds demos.

Dan Ryckert, you are spot on with the Metal Gear demo. So many fond memories of going to my neighbours place and play the demo over and over again. What an amazing game.

You could become used to dealing with all the annoying quirks of Tomb Raider's movement, but it was really objectively terrible. The best part of the Tomb Raider games was always when you got to fart around in the manor.

MGS proper deserves all the accolades it got. I don't know if I realized back then, but looking back at the other games that were available at the time, it's kind of ridiculous how far beyond everything else it was.

Dan is pretty forceful with his opinions. No room for anything else. Who could possibly like tomb raider? :p

I used to live on demo discs. My dad could afford a PS1 but we couldn't get games. I just played demos over and over.

I think @drewbert would love MGS... kinda militaristic but really dumb... yeah.. I think so.

I love the culture clash that is a Dan and Drew video. And you have to do a series where Dan and Drew play parts of the Metal Gear Solid games together.

Sorry Dan, the original DKC still handles like a dream. You probably had one too many before replaying it the last time around.

I really hope they do that Metal Gear Solid series; it would be great to see Drew's opinions.

I vaguely remember playing Medieval at a Walmart kiosk or something, but I never owned a PS1, this is awesome.

@danryckert I hope you have the demo disc with Ore-no Ryouri aka "I'm The Chef!" - that was my favorite weird all-Japanese game demo where nothing made any sense.

i tried to get into metal gear starting from the ps3 sons of patriots (it was on sale for 10€), do not do that, weird fart jokes and references and half hour movies you have no idea what is going on..

you play it you have the feeling you need to play like six games to get the point.

Oh man I remember this demo disc. This is what got me to buy Metal Gear Solid. Such a fantastic demo disc. I wish this was still a thing.

DKC2 is still the best DKC Dan, you are CRAZY. I replay that game once a year and it still holds up.

DKCR and TF are totally my favourite games in the DKC series, but DKC2 is no goddamn slouch.

I bought the original Tomb Raider for Vita on PSN a while back. I remembered it as a frustrating but worthwhile game to play when I had it on the Saturn, but nowadays as someone used to modern control schemes it just feels really, really awful to play.

One of those games best left to nostalgia.

Man the Pizza Hut demo disc is legendary. Also, MediEvil 1 & 2 are AMAZING. Still holding on for a sequel Sony....please?

EDIT: I'll also never forget the first time I played the MGS demon on this disc. Must have played it over 50 times and now MGS is my favorite series of all time.

I did not have this Pizza Hut disc, but that rockin' menu jam is from at least one other demo disc because I have it burned into my brain.

I'm gonna have to add "donkey kong country aged poorly" to the already long list of dumb shit Dan has said. Still love him though.

Imo the Tomb Raider games only became great after Crystal Dynamics took over.

I think I'm officially too old to appreciate Dan. I feel like I'm talking to a 12 year old hyped up on sugar that neither of us understand each others references.

Even better, the Windows 95 Game Sampler disks! Those things were amazing, featuring a first person walking game by Monolith as the interface, where you entered different rooms to read info about games and install them.

Not sure how many of those CD's there were, at least three I think.

That GT demo showed how badly we need a racing game enthusiast on the staff.

Happy to see Dan is a fellow Metal Gear fan, though. We didn't really have one of them, either. I'm surprised Drew has never played a MG game, they seem like exactly his kind of game.
