So ridonkulous save file aside, I think I may be in love with this game. Seems like the Terraria to DQB1's Minecraft in that it streamlined a lot of things and made building a town worth while

As for the general de-emphasis on exploration: Did Brad pull a Brad? Is that just an early game thing? Or does the game in general veer away from those aspects?

Great quick look (not on youtube fyi) but Why oh why isn't this on PC the interface is so perfect and being able to play this game without graphical hitches would be so nice. It's the only bad part about this game for someone who knows they won't play the game because of past experience with every ps4 pro and switch game that I don't play past a few hours.

@brad, unless they changed it from the first game, then you can view blueprints in the options menu.

@gundato: He's early enough that he just hasn't had much reason to explore. After you accomplish the main task that he's working on at this part you need to explore in another part of the island, and there I have found a few different unmarked caves and super-strong monsters that gave rewards.

Cypress Hills whole brand was about monsters coming for their crops.

If you're wondering they leave the town 27 minutes in, so buckle up for some farming until then.

This game seems so pleasant. You're a goddamn wizard who time traveled to make practical things for the villagers who appreciates your work.

I'll never understand why these don't come to PC, seems like the perfect platform for it.

I may have to buy this just for the clapping NPCs.

Seems fun and chill, though are you really limited to just skin/eye/hair colors and male/female? In creative games where I spend countless hours, I kinda need to feel my character is "mine", y'know.

So I'd have to wait til August and pay another $10 for character customization, hmm.

For what its worth the first game also had the big chest you could access from anyway, batch crafting, and fast travel back to town.

I was madly in love with the first till they said 'ok now leave'. Tried to give the poison swamp a chance but just had nothing.

Controversial opinion: Dragon Quest music is annoying.

Dialogue was localized in the ends by the way man talk, fam.

I'm not Dragon Quest follower, but Dragon Quest sound effects do something for me somehow.

A couple comments:

• There is a section in the menu that shows you all the types of blue prints and rooms you've discovered.
• It sucks that there's no quest log, but when you're on a quest, the items that you need to craft/place will have an exclamation point next to them in the UI, which makes it pretty easy to determine what to do.

EDIT: Also, I love that they changed the way you level up your town in this one. In the first one, you got town experience based on what was in your houses. That led to some gaming of the system where you'd just put a bunch garbage in a room to get a lot of points, even if it looked dumb.

In this one, your villagers periodically give you points based on how cool your town is and whether you meet their needs. Which seems incentivize simply making a cool town because the town experience will eventually come.

This is so precious and peaceful. This is replacing Civ 5, Stardew Valley and Cities: Skylines as time sink game I want to play but never will.

It's almost as if Brad has no interest in playing any game ever.

Anyone know how the Switch version runs compared to PS4? I’m debating where to buy this thing. PS4 version looked real smooth!

@jpon87: The frame rate drops a bit, but it is certainly not bad. I played the first one PS4 and always wanted it portably. The Switch version feels worth it to me.

I thought it was weird they use the term "stroke" instead of pet, until i came across a certain animal.

Keeping something "in good nick" is a British term for keeping something in good condition.

This game seems pretty cool, despite the lack of a quest log. Which seems like a very strange in 2019.

@puppymehard: I figured out that exclamation mark hint and after the 8th time they went into crafting without noticing I admit I got a little annoyed. But I'm glad there are means of figuring it out.

I got a little bit of a Keflings vibe from this, but those games made the building part very efficient (which I appreciated). Speaking of, they should make a new Keflings game.

Is it just me (or the video)or does the framerate seem real choppy?

This just seems like a good ol time. All these happy NPC's waking up together to make the best out of the day & clap at eachother :)

But yeah, this would sell a ton on PC. Do you like money square?

This is out on Xbox PC Game Pass now (not sure about console game pass). I wanted to play at release but not enough to buy it so I now I will play it!

Also, Vinny had talked about getting back into a month or so ago on BeCast and loving it so there's that.
